IF YOU USE THE HALF-KAIZER CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MATERIALS:
If you use this HKCP's materials to make a sprite, even if you alter it, you will be expected & required to credit all members of the HKCP Team in anything you do. That includes using them to make video games, other digital media, or in redistribution.

IF YOU REDISTRIBUTE MATERIALS:
You are allowed to redistribute the material you create using the material found here, provided that you credit every member of the HKCP Team (listed above). Failure to provide credit may result in a Cease and Desist order and other legal penalties. Commercial redistribution is permitted, with consent from Venetia. You must include in a PM to her, the game which will feature the material, and how much you will be charging for it (in $USD), and where the game(s) will be sold. If it is for non-commercial use, only credit is needed, and you don't need to contact her.

IF YOU LINK TO MATERIALS OR TO THIS GENERATOR:
DO NOT HOTLINK TO IMAGES FOUND ON THIS PAGE. Hotlinks will be requested to be removed. If you link to this page, please set the link's URL as http://www.hbgames.org/forums/index.php?topic=39088.0. Please maintain the same filenames on any images you redistribute. They contain the original artist's name.

We are serious about these Terms & Conditions. They are in place to protect the artists, and to encourage them to contribute. If you do not comply, expect consequences. Thank you!

http://www.pixelcocktail.com/HKCP/Graphics/DivLine.png[/img]

http://www.pixelcocktail.com/HKCP/Graph ... ow2Use.png[/img]

To use the materials found here, it's as simple as 1-2-3 ...

1.) Open the template & accessories/clothes you want to use in an image editor. You will probably need something better than MSPaint--something that can use layers. Try GraphicsGale or Paint.NET. (Please, do not ask how to use those programs. Find out yourself.)

2.) Choose Select All ([Ctrl]+[A]) to make a selection on a piece. Copy it ([Ctrl]+[C]).

3.) Select the Template, make a new layer if you like, and Paste the piece onto the template! Rearrange the layers until it's the way you want it. Then simply save the file as a PNG and close it.

VOILA! Couldn't be simpler.

http://www.pixelcocktail.com/HKCP/Graphics/DivLine.png[/img]

http://www.pixelcocktail.com/HKCP/Graph ... JoinUs.png[/img]

So, you'd like to join the HKCP Team? Joining is as easy as submitting a viable resource.

First, make a topic somewhere in Resource Analysis, containing your submission. Make sure to put somewhere in the post that your resource is intended to be in the HKCP! This is so people can critique it before you submit it. Make all the changes they recommend. If you skip this step, expect that your resource submission may be denied for lack of quality!

Next, PM Venetia your submission(s). DO NOT POST YOUR SUBMISSIONS IN THIS THREAD. They may be overlooked!

When your submission is added, you will be added to the team roster!

If you submit more than 5 original items (recolors not included), you will be an Elite Member! That will give you the "inside scoop" on updates before they happen, from Venetia. You'll also get a say in future endeavors or planned changes. Credit is all the same, but you'll get notoriety ;).

If you're only doing recolors of existing piece(s), you must credit the name(s) of the original artist(s).

NOTE: You MUST use the Pale Skin Palette, found below, to make an HKCP submission. The other palettes are optional, but recommended.

Please note: Submissions to the HKCP will instantly fall under the HKCP Terms & Conditions, above. They may be subject to editing, recoloring, or to redistribution, with credit. You cannot make an HKCP submission exclusive to you. Watermarks are not allowed.

These Templates are required to be used if you're making an HKCP submission. You can choose any you'd like, but it's imperative that it's set-up on these templates.

These are sorted by the standard skintones. You will be able to tell what they are by looking at the filenames.

NOTE: THERE ARE REVISED TEMPLATES NOW. They'll be added here when all of them are complete, but to watch the topic for updates, go to:
http://www.hbgames.org/forums/index.php?topic=50379.0

(For RMVX-formatted templates, see this post: http://www.hbgames.org/forums/index.php?topic=43901.0)

NEW TEMPLATES - Use these from now on!!!!!

OLD TEMPLATES - Do not use unless you HAVE TO or the revised body type is unfinished!

http://www.pixelcocktail.com/HKCP/Graphics/DivLine.png[/img]

TILESET TEMPLATES
Remember that these are mostly size/shape/tiling references. Remember: For a tileset to be considered eHKCP material, you have to have tons of original content, texturing, and shading!

Town - Exterior (version 1.0)

Town - Interior (version 1.0)

Finished?
...Please don't use that word - it frightens me. But in the future, it will have tons of resources for charsets, and even several tilesets. They're actually being worked on right now, mainly by Britchik and I.
Also tutorials, so anyone can better their spriting skills on the HK template. Exactly who's working on what, I don't know, but I have a shading cloth tutorial in the works.

I'd actually like to try and help, but my spriting skills suck at the moment.

Quite a task for this community to help with, but there is a severe lacking in "elite" artists nowadays that can be of immediate use, but the odd accessory or hair submitted by a lot of normal spriters (me for example) would help bolster that aspect of this project.

Damn .... just, ... Damn

This looks amazing. You guys (Vene, Show, Cerulean, 'Theo, Brit), you're all amazing. This will define the revolution with HK's for the rest of eternity. You guys are making legends, that we'll tell our children about when we're old. Let the Golden Years of RMXP commence. LONG LIVE THE HKCP!

Eventually, once, I get some school work done, I'll try to join up with this crew, and lend what ever I can to help.   :thumb:

Thanks, guys!!!

Anyone can make any tutorials they'd like to. I myself am going to be making ones on:

- Hair (Complete)
- Skin Shading
- Altering Palettes
- Ways to Speed Up Your Pixelling
- Make the Perfect Shirt
- Make the Perfect Pants
- Make the Perfect Skirt
- Shoes and Accessories
- Resizing Pre-existing Tilesets

When they're all done, I hope that even pixel-newbs will be able to rattle off their own HKCP-quality submissions, so anyone can contribute!

I look forward to where this is going to go!

If you have any questions you'd rather not bring up here, don't be afraid to PM me about it.

I'm working overtime on the Generator, the Tutorials, and the File Sharing system (I'm thinking something like Coppermine), but I also have a few more pixel things in the works, myself, so don't worry :D

Alright guys!! Let's get to work!! [/pep talk]

Wow, this is awesome. ^_^

A big thanks for everybody who's working on this!

However, I noticed one little thing ... on the template section there appears to be a tiny little mistake with the female adult with toes.
I noticed that the one posted on the Tan section is actually Medium, and the one posted on Medium actually has Dark skin tones.  Either that or my eyes are being weird once more. xD

I can't wait for those tutorials. I've always wanted to sprite, but never had much luck.  This will help tons. ^_^

O...M...G... This is amazing!!! I have been wanting to make a HK project for a while but I can't sprite HK. This is just genius. I wish I could join the team but there is no way I could make anything good enough to submit so I'll provide moral support. XD Are you going to do tilesets as well?

And you have people like the awesome Venetia and the legendary ShowKaizer on the team?! Simply, amazing.

Yes, actually. Myself, Britchik, and Gratheo are all working on tilesets. This is the NPC portion of the HKCP. There'll be an Environmental HKCP (the eHKCP), including tilesets a little later :)

Also, look forward to the aHKCP (the Animal HKCP!)

Wow, BunnyKinx, that'd make things so much more awesome. If you do, an idea to implement would be having objects use certain parts of the palette, and switch swatches directly, rather than all the individual colors. That way, you'd have a huge number of possible color schemes for pieces. Just a thought.
