that bleech animation... is... epic XD

oh man, as a huge FE nut, I loved going through this, oh god, the general edit, all of the class edits, the halberdier was orgasmic, but giving a soldier a critical animation... lmao, funnier than the time I actually got criticaled by one, idk which was sadder, the lack of a actual critical animation, or the fact I actually got criticaled by a solder XD

general and the pirate promotes are just so badass, the idea of gving a sniper a lance is really cool, I'm not sure if it would justify the sniper, but the sprite looks still just badass XD Rebecca with a lance, hm....

ok, I think I'm going on to long, but yeah, the seperation of the cavs, they needed that, it's in FE10 RD and it worked really nicely, dispite how all of the cavs sucked ass other than titania, the squire and axe knight sprites just look cool XD

man, I'm loving you're work. I've never personally even tried to make FE styled sprites before, but this makes me want to give it a try someday XD

keep going, love it :D

This is really gorgeous animation. I've seen that Bleach FE animation before and I was really impressed.

It's hard to work with such small sprites but you've got it down very well. Did you make the effects yourself too? Because those are also brilliant.

I did all of the effects except the critical hit explosion (this). For the Bleach anim specifically, the background is from some ep of the Bleach anime, the HUD and platform are from FE8, and the critical effect is from any GBA Fire Emblem; I made everything else.

Sorry, I don't take requests and haven't for a while. I would never get any of my stuff done if I did. :<

Anyway, trying out FE map spriting. This is only my second lol. A Soldier, because the original Soldier map sprite looks nothing like the battle sprite.

Some new things.

Image Harken's personal Drifter sprite. His face sprite has armor so his battle sprite looked silly without.
Image Ruffian, Pirate/Brigand tier 0. Unarmed and armed.
Image Scout, Archer tier 0. The one withut the bow isn't the unarmed, it's just so you can see the sprite more clearly.
Image Wizard, Sorcerer promotion.

Tier 0 Light...? No, it's a tier 1 Anima user. More con/str/def than a Mage, less skl/spd. Like a Dragon Rider compared to a Peg, or a Mercenary compared to a Myrmidon.
I haven't even concepted what the t0 Light user will look like yet .-.

I made that stick figure animation in Max, yeah. That's the first animation I made using this method as a test to see if it's worth using. So far it seems effective though.

but yeah, haha, I thought it was light becuase the magic ball thing was light.

So the anima user is just the counter of the mage? Thats cool, I think it's more like the hunter/archer relationship in FE 11 though.

You don't know how long I've been trying to figure out what those sprite styles were called. I've wanted soooo long to make a game outta them, but this ... this is unbelievable. Your truly an FE maniac, you've done an incredible amount of work. Hopefully, your making a game outta this, because, it would instantly go down as my number one favorite.

Anyways, quick question. What program do you use to animate your sprites? Because, I'm looking to start animating, but I can't seem to find a good program.

(Wow white background makes them look kinda terrible)
(Clarifying because it's really not clear at all to someone who doesn't play FE, I didn't make the ones in this post, they're from FE8; just pointing out Anima usually does magic symbols more than Light)

And yeah Hunter/Archer is probably also a good comparison I guess. I haven't played FE11 yet so I forgot that one. I dunno how those compare weight-wise though, so I'll stick with mine. :p

ah, dam, I revisited like half a year ago but didn't finish it only like a few chapters in, but it was the first FE game I played and that was like... 5 years ago x.x I gotta refinish it, haha

I forgot about the whole horse mage thing, what was the horse cleric called at first? oh well, I'm confused with the magic classes you're going to have now haha, could you list them?

I'll list the magic classes later, keeping most of the classes a surprise until I make them.

Tips...? Not really...? I made some battle sprite full custom tutorials but they only really apply to Fire Emblem, and you pretty much have to know how to splice/edit FE stuff before using it.

Drifter stickman. Tier 0s are lulzy.

Ranger, Axe/Bow Mount promotion. Different sprite than the FE8 Ranger because he uses Axes instead of Swords.
I kinda wanted a lordless knight or vigilante vibe from him, since he's from Nomads and Cavaliers.
The horse is sub-custom. I redraw it completely but referenced other FE horses the whole way, so it's hardly different.

I love the axe ranger way more, but he doesn't exactly look like a bow user to much anymore compared to the nomad/ranger, more like just a northern snowland or roughlands calvary.

I assume it's frame by frame, the stick man would help but I don't think theres actually a program that'll make it easier...

...Pixel art... maybe? I drew it pixel by pixel, it's just blending modes/flickering to make it look like that. Does that not count?
And if not where would it go anyway? I guess Visual Art Analysis... I'd rather not make a topic for one thing when it seems like it fits here anyway.

The Shaman isn't animated cause he's just showing spacing/placement, so it's easier to see how it works ingame. I mean it would be several minutes of messing around to get all the Shaman sprites in the animation and correct when the important thing to see is the spell. And that'd make the whole thing like 4 times as long when only a quarter would be what I actually made, lol

No, most of your stuff looks like PA anyway so it doesn't belong in VA. I was just curious, cause your animations don't look like PA. Anyway, good job, keep up the nice work.
