Hey,
I didn't think this was enough to make just one thread for, but here I go.

I made the cover art for my game's OST today - half out of need, half out of boredom. I'm pretty proud of how it turned out. Being an idea I've had for a while, I'm glad I finally got it out.
I wanted to know if I was doing it right, what I should fix, and what you think of the concept.
[EDIT]: Added three new ones, one of them is the original with new colours and stuff, the other 3 are multiple pallettes for one new idea.

#1

#2 new

#3

#4

"OLD!"

What do you think?

im not sure if you are trying to fade the blood smear into the birds, because if so you did a sorta bad job at it. it looks like you just overlapped the blood and the birds. what you should try is slow make the blood droplets look like the birds instead of just mixing them both.

I'd also work on the colors a bit. That shade of green put together with the brown make a really eye tiring mix.

it's sorta of a hard blend between the two- there's really no blurring of the blue/brown, and since we have something turning into something else, i'd think a slight less hardness a the edges would help.
and maybe bright blue isn't the best color.
the actual words could use some fixing up as it's superbland

the text really seems like it doesn't fit in; you've kind of shoved it into a corner outside the visual focus of the cover. there's so much going on visually in the center and toward the bottom-left that you might benefit from placing the text somewhere around there instead, in a colour that makes it easily visible against all the john woo stuff going down.

I like the idea you were going for, apart from the critiques that other post's have stated(which I do agree with), I think this didn't completely work out mainly because of the lacking composition, there is no harmony between positive and negative space, which probably lead to this feeling like a cluttered mess.

As for the colours, I think this concept would work great with neutral colours as well as make it alot easier for the eyes.

I'd use a darker background if I were you. The current greenish thing just doesn't work.

I like contrasting colours, but that greenish turquiose on the background just doesnt work with the brown blod splatter-y birds.
Try lowering the saturation or just using a different palette.

And the text it's kinda put there on the corner randomly :/

UPDATE: Took advice, Added four new ones, the first of them is the original with new colours and stuff, the other 3 are multiple pallettes for one new idea. They all revolve around blood splatters :P

First one. The only problem, for me, with the old one is that the colours were too bright.

I was trying to put everyone's suggestions into one, which ended up in a real basic red over black pallette.

3 doesn't have the empahsis on the words as 2/4 has, which is why it loses.
I think 2 is the best, as there's simply major emphasis on the the farewell ost while still allowing the background splatter shit to complement the entire thing.
I think that the reason you did the bird thing in the first place was to convey the atmosphere/feeling of the game and maybe some of the bird symbolism, but at the least 2 has the atmosphere done right.

I went with #4, and I might save #2 for something else, like a second volume or something..
