so yeah I dont know how to make things blend in the background at all so it is pretty terrible
and the background is super cop out but
im done working on this
i am still really new to painting and coloring and stuff so please forgive the huge technical errors~
some coloring advice would be great because
again i am so new to coloring
i dont ever color anything x:

also jesus fuck its sloppy i didnt notice some of the slop
i would go back but i am burnt out beyond belief i am really ready to move on~

also
I bought an art book and it is shipping so hopefully my poses wont be
super fucking terrible anymore
and maybe get to a maximum level of semi decent~

That's actually really nice, bacon! I think your problem with the background is that it's flat, so it looks out of place with the insect. You need to paint the background too if you want it to blend in.

As far as coloring advice goes, I think you need to consider the overall dimensionality of the thing more. Before you paint, maybe block in the light and dark areas roughly so it's easier to keep the overall form in mind.

yeah I know what you are saying peri. Lighting and shading have always been a super struggle and its always been super hard for me to imagine a 3D perspective. Its something I am working on and hopefully am getting better with over time.

The background is terrible I just got so tired of the piece that I sort of stopped

Thanks miss peri ma'am

Also Badmonur gave me some tips hopefully with some practice I can get good~

I also got an anatomy book so like
hopefully I go full fledged with learning the human body and stuff
combine this with learning how to paint digitally and hopefully my art will get better~
(and I will restart that comic~)

what :x :ohdear: that is quite creepy

you need to watch your softness/hardness values on your paintbrush/whatever tool you're using. The fat lines are crazy soft and the thin lines are super sharp. Looks amateurish ... The blending modes need to be consistent (and imo should always be done sharply, then perhaps softened later as a whole, if you're trying to demonstrate foreshortening or effects or what-have-you).

thats always been my shtick

Ive been doing hardcore anatomy studies on paper and murals while learning to paint on the computer

Technically, I think Ive always treated everything I do as a monster in some ways
and I like drawing monsters a ton

but if you have any suggestions on what I should draw be my guest and suggest~
and thanks

Good ol' bacon. Still drawing monsters I see. Are you sure this isn't an adaptation of the Gobul?

I'm no artist, but I think that you do a really good job with the blending, and the lighting effect definitely adds a lot of depth to an image that would otherwise be pretty flat.

something shitty i did in like 30 minutes
practicing forming colors and lines and painting without using a guide or lineart
everything was built from the ground up with color~

the more i look back at it the shittier it is
but it was more for practice than
like actually trying to do something decent~

also i love how i draw the same thing for two months and then go back and do other art endeavors
esp because even though i draw the same things they change over time and get more consistent

also those symbols took hours
