So, finally picked this up. I'm shooting for a nigh-on pure warrior build, because that seems like something a lot of people don't do, and doing the companions questline pretty much straight away. I plan on making a separate thief/assassin build later for Thieve's Guild and DB; I'll probably make a pure mage for Winterhold.

Haha that's great

On topic:

I've started my third character a few days ago, I'm going for a pure mage. (I'm doing the College of Winterhold quests obviously)
Finished the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves guild a while before that, both questlines were pretty good!

I managed to make it to the Throat of the World by abusing Skyrim's incredibly fucked up horse physics and I'm Level 2. Is this special or am I proud of myself for nothing?

I started over my playthrough after discovering I'd been playing on novice for the past who knows how long. It made all my achievements feel worthless and adjusting to adept at my level then turned out to be extremely hard. Going for a mostly battle battlemage this time around.

The horse physics are great. I love walking up a nearly vertical slope on my horse.

I don't think he appears up there yet. I grabbed the Notched Pickaxe and proceeded to walk down an 85 degree cliff. I love this game.

This is pretty cool imo.

You'll probably get a few weird looks though, when you're constantly shouting "Fus Roh Dah!" through the room.

Awesome Bro
I'd get it for 360 just to be able to shout Fus Ro Dah to be honest with you... but meh

I haven't played the game for MONTHS, to be honest I couldn't really get into it, the same thing happened with Oblivion and Fallout 3 (Not played New Vegas yet) but after I played them after a long ass hiatus I really got into them... I'll probably end up doing the same with Skyrim lol, but I'm gonna' rebuy it on PS3, provided by the time it gets around to that, the PS3 version is actually playable, I've heard really bad things regarding performance on it, lol... Or I could just stick with my PC copy, we'll see...

Yeah it's the same with me, I haven't touched the game since after I finished the major sidequests. (Thieves guild, Mages guild etc.)
Seeing this however does make me want to start it up again sometime, too bad I haven't got Kinect though.

Skyrim is infinitely more playable and fun when you play it with other people. Walking around Skyrim and having a dragon attack you out of nowhere is far more entertaining when you've got buddies with you to watch the bloodshed :fap:

I haven't touched this game in weeks because playing it by myself is kind of boring to be honest.

I hope this game will really have elder scrolls gameplay, and won't turn into WoW in Tamriel~

I disagree, I think the only thing that would make the elder scrolls games better is the option to play it with more people!
I would've settled for a co-op mode but this might even be better.

Elder Scrolls games have always been the sort where I could immerse myself in the world and the lore, and get lost in it. They were games where >>I<<, the player, was special. I was the prophetic hero. I was the sealer of portals, the champion of cyrodiil. I was the dragonbjorn.

In multiplayer games, you can't take it seriously. That adds charm to SOME games, but not to elder scrolls games. And in MMO games, you are never the Chosen One. You're always just another guy trying to be a hero, lost in a crowd of people who all have cooler armor than you.

:(.

I get what you're saying but you have to remember that there will still be normal Elder Scrolls games as well.
This is just a new direction they are trying out, and I think that if they do it right it can become a huge succes.
Obviously the story and lore will become less important in this game but you can still play the single player games for that.
But when you feel like taking down some dragons with a couple of friends you can fire up this game!

The only thing I'm worried about is that they might remove the first person element and change the combat system into a WoW clone, but I'm anxious to see what they come up with.

It probably won't work anyway from the massive amount of unresolved bugs and exploits that can only come from a Bethesda product.

imo thats what oblvion and skyrim needed. multiplayer... the game would of been 100x better if you could just bring a friend with you and fuck shit up... and hell at least the games could of had pvp in an arena or something

No the gameplay from TES just wouldn't translate well into an online game. You can be sure it will be filled with asses who are just going to attack every player they see.

I doubt there will only be PvP servers tbh, I think there will be PvE servers for the people who don't want to get involved in PvP too much.

According to Rock Paper Shotgun it will be like WoW and this mean that it will be Another Generic WoW Clone MMO which sucks sooooooo hard.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/05 ... roborosly/

Features - third person view, ugly sweet graphics, HUDs with selectable skills and other generic MMO turd.

God, I hate MMO genre so much.

EDIT: Wrong link: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/05 ... ls-online/

Well that ruins it for me.
The only way this would've worked is if they had kept the Elder Scrolls game mechanics.
It's not really surprising and yet I am still dissapointed... :(

Oh and in other news:

yeah i heard about the expansion a while ago and am more excited about that.

More info on the ES MMO (;/):
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=472749

of note:
Quote:
-The game uses a hotbar to activate skills like other traditional MMOs
-Visually it looks like other Hero Engine MMOs like SWTOR
-The general art style is kind of like RIFT or Everquest 2
-You can't be a werewolf or vampire
-The combat model will not be real time due to latency
-There will be no player housing
