Although not everyone met their goals, together we put in 879 game development hours during November! This is a ton of game development, so I wanna congratulate everyone who participated for making some game and being awesome.

To follow this up, I want to mention an event RMN is having:

Release Something! Day 11: The Eagle Has Landed has started. Now that you have all put in a solid month's work on your projects, why not share them in this release-oriented event?

Release Something! Day is an event wherein we release something on a predetermined date (today, December 1st), be it a work-in-progress demo, an OST, a video, or whatever. And then everyone plays everyone else's stuff.

If you don't have one already, create a gameprofile on RMN, then submit your project's download and submit it to the event. In the past, this event often generates a lot of comments, reviews and sometimes a write-up or even a podcast.

Everyone should totally participate in this!

Anyway, the board for NaGaDevMo has been archived. If you want your thread somewhere else, let a mod know and we'll move it. Also, what did everyone think of the event? And when do you want to do it again? We can totally do it more often than once a year if you want to.

I liked it, though I didn't meet my goal (or even my secondary goal of 30 hours: missed it by approx. 5 hours), I felt I got more done last month than i have in the past 5 years I've worked on my project(s) <,< ... >,>

Anyway, It was nice keeping track of how many hours I worked on it and look forward to doing it again. I'd love to participate in RMN's Release it Day, but I really don't have anything releasable yet. Maybe we should make this like every other month, or every quarter (every three months)... so the next time should either be January or February, imo.

Yeah, I was thinking maybe once every three months or so. Hmm, I'll add a poll.

It might become tedious if we have it too often, but either way, I'd suggest timing the month so it coincides with freer periods of time.

As a whole, this was a great success! Personally, though, I wish I could have worked more. My motivation seemed to tank once I started lagging behind and caught up in rl work, etc. But given the choice, I would definitely rejoin and up my performance next time.

As a question for those who did reach their goals, how did you motivate yourselves to finish?

I talked to Star about the Release Something! event, but he said he'd be too embarrassed to participate in that. XD

I could release Raspberry Sanctum and see what people think about it, but hmmm...

I worked a tons on my games, but just forgot to update my thread each time I did...

It was a great month, I'd love to do something like this at least once every six months!

Uhm, I've participated in the 'release something' event by uploading a small demo with a couple of puzzles I made during NaGaDeMo.

The link to the game thingy demo whatever: http://rpgmaker.net/games/3656/

Oh, and if this counts as advertisement, please edit my post or tell me to edit it out.

For me, NaGaDevMo never ends.
I just don't document stuff.

I voted for every 6 months, but Once / Year is probably a touch choice for me. Having something like this too often or all the time is pretty much the same as it not existing at all.
