Although I have distain for the drawing elements of html5 (not what markup languages are for -__-), that's just an idealogical stupid thing

I'll give it a shot if it runs in wine, hopefully there's some interaction with backend/html/js?

Edit: It runs! I'll see if it works now when I get to my parent's house

Edit2: Runs, doesn't really work all too well. Developer note: looks .NETy, could probably be ported relatively easily to linux with mono

Yeah, we certainly don't want to move towards a more universal language that doesn't rely on glitchy, memory-consuming plugins like Flash.

edit: Plus, saying that drawing (I'm assuming you're including game design as a whole, not just animation) shouldn't be done in HTML also completely undermines the validity of Wyatt's entire project. Which is lame. That shit is cool.

see *idealogical stupid thing*

well also not exactly my point

it's moreso things that take it too far

like the html5 nes emulator

cool concept yes

but... not what *ML or the web/http was intended for really; I despise flash and plugins too.. but again I am a crazy person

EDIT: also hey I took the time today to setup a VM on my laptop so I could give this a shot -__- don't sign me off to the gallows right away

Pfft if we stuck to what the web was intended for it would be a boring place. Innovation ftw!

The web was intended to be a means of porn distribution for the military...right?

I use the web to throw away large portions of my free time to running contests on a forum that people use to bicker about silly things instead of really hunkering down and getting excited about being essentially PAID to use their gamemaking hobby to make a game

(hint)

oh I took this as a challenge

I'm porting an old platformer game for the lulz

if for some insane reason I win money just keep it for hosting

I'll keep the construct licence though

I suppose I'm whining about things that don't apply as much here

By the way, is the submission valid if the HTML is edited post-construct usage?

as long as you use construct for the biggest chunk of work, and the final product is a game, anything goes.

Yes you can use your coding skills so long as the bulk of the work was created by the engine. You may also program your own plugins if you are so inclined.
