RPG Maker is ludicrously easy as game makers go. A step up in difficulty wouldn't be such a huge thing. It might even clear the air a little by requiring that people be a little more serious about their games to cope.

However, I doubt that it will be much more difficult to use than Enterbrain's previous works. Knowing them, most of the stuff will already have been done for you.

I can't wait till this is out. I've been wanting to make a Super Mario World hack for a while. I tried it with RMXP, but this will probably work better.

Actually, there's already a program which you can use to hack the rom and create your own levels without having to rip the graphics etc.

Man, I've been thinking of ideas ever since I heard of it.

How about one that you play as this character that has to blow his enemies into different hazards to proceed? He could blow a rock into a pit so that he could cross or keep a light enemy afloat so that it can move into a slot which opens up a door?

Or how about an Okami type game using Amateratsu's powers?

Lol, how about Bleach racing? You can race different characters of bleach using shunpo!

Man, if you could mix the genres of Action rpg, side scroller, and shmps...O.O'

I'm interested in making a platformer.  I don't have ideas at the moment, though.  I'm more of a "start playing around and make up the story as you go" person.  It'd be really cool if you could have a summoning ability, like being able to summon minions to do stuff that you wouldn't normally be able to do.  It'll be interesting when they come out with more specifics.

If your PC is up to par with the recomended requirements, you should have no lag.
I have no lag in either XP or VX.
I hear it all the time, XP lags, VX lags, and it usualy is either the PC or the PCs settings.

I only hope their are very few limits in this maker.
VX had tileset limits that made me skip buying it.
You should never limit somthing in software that is used for creativity.
I also hope we can do hills and slopes in the platform portion of this maker.

I have a feeling i may actualy complete a game with this maker.

there's probably gonna be some sort of selection process as i doubt microsoft will tolerate super mario bros 7: luigi saves the princess in another castle and other copyright infringing material

Would it be possible to make a mouse-shooter action game? =)?
(Using your mouse to aim and shoot and walk around with arrowkeys or W,A,S,D)

Or a Platform-Shooter game? You use your mouse to aim and keys to jump and run and such :)...

since it's flash embedded then maybe.  i'm curious about the control scheme (it'll probably be adjustable) since you can also play it on xbox.

I just learned that the team who made Mega Man 9 and the Zero series is only made up of like 20 guys and Mega Man 9 itself was developed in a little over 6 months.  If that game's success is any indication of what you can do with action rpg maker (granted you have the will to create and the vision to direct) then distribution through XBL is sounding even better.
