Well, under RPG Maker 2000, you have a RPG Maker 200 forum with all it's sub-forums. So I was thinking, can you add a RPG Maker 95 forum & all it's sub-forums. It's just a lot of people still use RPG Maker 95 & can't find resources for it, but with this site being the best RPG Maker resource site, then maybe it would start being easier to find RPG Maker 95 resources. It would also be nice for people making RPGM95 games to post there about their game & such.

I really hope you do this, thank you.

I don't think enough people care about RPG Maker 95 for it to warrant its own forum(s).

@Topic: I don't think RM95 did anything better than 2000, so noone uses it ... simple result: No 95 forums for me :P

As I said in your topic, read the description of the RM2k forum:

Quote:
If you wish to discuss other RPG Makers, this is the place to do it

You can discuss 95 and the Japanese version of 2k3 there.

Well in that case, the header for the rm2k forums might want to change to something more general, ie "other makers" so people with ideas involving toolkit, gamemaker, sphere etc can have a place to post.

Well they do. They just have to read a paragraph to know that.

:O Not a whole paragraph! :O

But since the focuse of the site is RMXP (it is rmxp.org), I don't think isolating Toolkit or Game Maker users is a major concern.

Well then why is isolating rm2k a major concern? At least sphere, toolkit, and gamemaker can still actually hold up to rmxp, rm2k cant yet its got its own sections? Logic police.

It's not, that's why it wasn't even there originally and was just kinda put up there, and is not nearly as publicized or active as the rest of the forum. It's just much closer to RMXP, so it's moreso of a concern than, say, RPG Toolkit.

I think I'll have to agree with the concesus on this one, most people's thoughts on RPG Maker 95 are:

http://www.durbnpoisn.com/images/faces/GiveADamn.gif[/img]

...
Sorry I just love that emot. Anyways, I thought I'd just say, even though I never used RPG Maker 95, I feel that it's seriously outdated. By 11 years infact. People hardly use RM2K+3 anymore let alone RM2K or even RM95.

This is a toolkit game. How is this less like RMXP then:
http://www.freewebs.com/acp_games/Jeshii%20Field.png[/IMG]
Hoy? Cus toolkit is still very relevent in the right hands, as opposed to something directly in line with rmxp that's completely outdated in every way. Just sayin'. Toolkit and gamemaker communities are pretty thriving, especially gamemaker, they're just something that, like RMXP, you gotta look for to find.

It's less like RMXP because of the way that the engine actually works. I've used both. EITHER WAY the forum can be used for both, it's just that I don't think it's really THAT important to change the title. Assuming that people take the time to read. It's like a built-in leech filter.

Um no, enterbrain developed rmxp, ascii made rm2k/3. And you should know most people dont bother to read Dark, they see the rm2k section and never look inside, and never read the print below, then post their gamemaker game in the rmxp project section.

Actually Ryan if you look at RM2K/3 it was also made by enterbrain, they just used a different logo:

http://www.rrrevolution.com/makers/rm2k ... r-2003.jpg[/img]

See that little reb e-b in the corner, that stands for EnterBrain.

EDIT: Also I'm not sure if that's the normal or the japanese version or whatnot, I just got that pic from http://www.rrrevolution.com because my RPG Maker 2003 is long gone.

EDIT Mk2:

And also:

http://www.rrrevolution.com/pictures/makers/rm2k.jpg[/img]

There's the RM2K opening thingy, It was published by ASCII but Developed, meaning made and created, by guess who... Enterbrain. It's not that evident in that pic there because you can't really see all that well the logo, but here it is in clear grey and blue:

I think the major thing is how legit it is...
I mean, how legit is RM95? Did Enterbrain say anything about it?

RM95 is as quasi-legal as rm2k. The main point of naming the forum RPG Maker 2000 is to emphasize that the discussion of 2k3 (unless it is the Japanese version of 2k3) is not allowed. As has been pointed out, people don't read. If we just named the forum "other game making software," or whatever, we'd no doubt have to spend more time policing it.

I don't think this discussion is particularly relevant anymore, so I will close it. For people looking for the final answer: for discussion of any version of RPG Maker besides XP, use the RM2k forum. Here is why it is the RM2k forum and not the OtherRM forum or something:
1) RM2k is quasi-legal. By specifying RM2k we limit illegal RM2k3 discussion a lot.
2) RM2k is the most recent and widely used legal RPG maker.
3) All resources for any RM besides XP are essentially identical besides minor differences (the only one I can think of between 2k and 2k3 are the battlers), so it would be rather silly to create multiple forums for them.

and why don't we have a place for RPG Toolkit and other RPG making softwares? Simple. This is RMXP.org. RMXP is EnterBrain software. The previous programs in the line share a lineage with RMXP, therefore, support and information about them is a little more closely related to RPG Maker XP. Toolkit does not share a lineage, so RPG Maker related information will not generally be as useful and vice versa. Toolkit discussion can be carried out in the Design and Development subforum, which I wish more people would take the time to look at when they have questions about that sort of thing.
