Changed some of wording and guidelines to soften expectations.
I know people have said they don't want to create a project topic until they have more to show for it. Understandably, no one wants to make promises they can't keep.
Concept Development For serious development and feedback...Maybe too serious?
Incubation Chamber Can't make an omelet without cracking a few eggs

It might be more encouraging if people can just post fun ideas and whimsies and not feel expected to finish everything they start. Not to mention, our guidelines for project presentation might be too ridged. Sure, presentation is important, but it might be cumbersome to the creative process. It should go without saying that *Everything is a work in progress and not representative of a final game.

I agree.

Also I think it would be better to split the general programming board from Game Making Support, because it looks like its just the Makers rather than encompassing even those who aren't using a specific maker.

I'd like to come up with a new model for development threads too.
Something focused on development goals that better communicates where the project is at. A whiteboard of sorts with links to Google Documents so people can actually see and comment on the game's script or other design aspects. Not just a few screenshots and short paragraph.

Even though I know there are a lot of people who want to keep projects to themselves and are only using forums for publicity.

On second thought, maybe this is pointless.

This change means effectively nothing if we don't update the rules for the board as well. The rules themselves are fine, but the thread's wording and layout is intimidating. It effectively discourages people from posting as a result of that. It is also outdated in several cases, such as references to script analysis.

Hmm, maybe it doesn't even need rules persay. Well, much less wordy ones, anyway.

I like the idea.
I could move my Brain Zap thread to it, or start a new one, and just throw in ideas of what I'd like to do in the future.
