We have our complete games section: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=78736

v2 brought us game images, a rearranged list view, category buttons, and then game pages which included screenshots, dev blogs and reviews.

I'm planning on working on v3 tonight if all goes well. I welcome your ideas or comments. For now this is the plan:

- Comment, screenshot, blog and review counts on game pages
- Participation Point bonuses for being the first to review, first to post a self-taken screenshot, first to comment
- Download buttons for games
- Restructured topic icons for game threads Image - less available for games, only to show what engine the game is made in (maybe the genre?)
- Screenshots galleries properly reinstated (currently look like this: search.php?keywords=78927&terms=all&author=&fid=325&sc=1&sf=titleonly&sk=t&sd=d&sr=topics&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
- "Featured in the eZine" badges for games
- Webm compatability
- Blog system

This is much more intuitive. I didn't understand the posting method from before.

Thanks.

Also just noticed, I need to make it so that when you go to a review from the forums normally, it checks to see if it's "in a game" and displays that game's header.

Right.

I am thinking that these are the only buttons we will allow for games.

The other icons will be hidden while in the gaming boards.

It's possible to submit a blank screenshot.

Edit: Just to be clear, the plan was to have screenshots as individual posts, right? So they show up separate in the screenshot gallery.

Yes. Then screenshots get their own comments.

Screenshots and webms will be easy so I should be able to sort those tonight. Might get the blog system done to. Game icons just needs a bit of code to check what forum you're in and curtail them as appropriate. Participation Points more complex, depends if it's automatic or just like a contest kind of thing.

OK. Limited topic icons for games done. You can only choose one that represents a game engine. This applies to the completed games and games in development boards.

There is a new tag, [webm]. This lets you use webm videos. Syntax is [webm]url[/webm]. Alternatively you can specify a width and height, [webm=width,height]url[/webm].

Restored the individual screenshot galleries for games.

Example:

I'm going to try out the webm tag just as soon as I find a reliable host that won't delete content and lead this place full of broken links.

[webm] tags don't seem to work.
When I tried it, it appeared to be attempting to load content from "http://www.hbgames.org/forums/%7Burl%7D" which didn't do anything at all (might wanna check url substitution there  )

It doesn't seem to play unless I open it in a new tab. From there, it works fine. The embed doesn't seem to work though (in chrome).
I've got a video on my project page here - see if you can play it.
Also, would you be able to add an option to show the player controls?

It works now in both firefox and chrome now, thanks.
I think that having controls should be an option specified in the [webm] tag though, because the controls aren't needed for shorter webms that are effectively improved gifs.
