It's me, Sauk... or is it?!

Awesome Bro
So now I've rewritten enough of the story to get a bit of gameplay churned out (Since my (unreleased) games tend to be story and cutscene heavy which a lot of people dislike), I'm thinking of ways to make the gameplay fun, instead of just walking from A to B to C to D and so on like that, I want to add... something. Any help?

I think I'm going to do away with battles unless they're really necessary and/or I can do them on the map itself without going to a battle screen, since it just wouldn't suit the style of game that this is... and I don't want to make it a grind fest, so if there ARE going to be battles, I just want them to be part of the story where you'll just follow the flow into them and win instead of having to run around some field grinding up beforehand, even though I like grinding myself, this game wouldn't work with it...

Also, I'm also going to use a day/night cycle and add some form of lighting and shadows, since they make the game look prettier, so if anyone would like to recommend any scripts and whatnot, you can post them in here for me to check out.

I've already got the message system down and working, big thanks to silverwind for that (ilu silver!), so I don't have to go hunting around for anything since what she's made for me has made it really easy to use and looks great!

Since the game won't be relying on stats or anything, except I suppose for battles, but like I said, I want them to happen on the map so I might just event it and shove a few "stats" (Just health and attack really) into variables and work something out from there, I don't think I'll need the bulk of the menu screen, so I'll be able to make that very streamlined.

What I've got an idea for is basically just having an inventory screen (But I'd want something custom made, I'll go into detail once I open up a request thread), but in terms of saving, I'll either use save spots on the map, or you just permanently have a "save scroll" or something in your inventory that you can use to save... it's basically the same thing as having a save option on the menu but gets rid of the bulkiness of a menu (Unless you do the menu right... but meh)

Well that's all I can think of for now, not much really but I'll add more as I think of new things that could be added... if anyone else would like to contribute, feel free to do so
