This is a game I have been developing ever since I started with the RPG Maker Series which has gone through many different concepts and stopped and started. But now I have got the motivation and ideas to develop this into completion. So without further ado:

Very nice game you got goin' here. Before I get into my thoughts on this, I noticed in your fourth screenshot that it says "Us DarkMages" when it should say "We DarkMages."

Okay, so as I was reading the story, most of it sounded really cliche. Ancient war goes on, Light wins and seals the darkness's spirit and a large amount of years later there's a world with "Nations" that do stuff. I'm not saying being cliche is bad, because my game that I posted here is pretty cliche, but it's okay if you add a good amount of concepts that aren't cliche, like back stories and stuff. The mapping I'd say is decent and I really like how you made the map appear in the background of your battle, looks awesome! (The map doesn't though, it looks awful. It's not the worst I've seen though.) The characters all sound interesting, which is a plus, and they might distract me from the cliche storyline (that's a big "might" though). So yeah, keep it up.

First, I thought this was a spin-off of Age of Empires. Oh wait its made in RMXP, how stupid of me.

Then I see the word "Darkness"... I think 15679713248 games have used that...

And then...
oh no...


It seems like the horrors are coming. :shock:

The main hero of Age of Darkness. Leon is an ambitious and courageous young man. He is a citizen of Ceteria and a knight-in-training. His only dream is to become a hero.

Ok, while I'm bolding everything, I'm indicating that its cliche, and by cliche I mean its been used by thousands of games.

So lets continue shall we?

So erm, gameplay and screenshots wise, things are alright. Mapping is ok...

I can't really comment much, you aren't giving us much information here...

EDIT: Oh and like McSephiroth said, its NOT that bad. But some cliches are really not good plot devices.

Personally I like cliché..

But yeah, I admit there is a little too much cliché going on here. When I was develpoing the story I tried my hardest not to make it cliché but it just kept sliding towards that direction O.o

Oh and @MCsephiroth13 I never noticed that grammatical error thanks for noticing that. *goes and changes ASAP!!!*

Well, MOST of the people dosen't like cliche(Like me lol).
If you are trying to entertain the crowd, I say you don't do cliche.
If its personal, what can I say?
Its NOT that hard to avoid the cliche slide. Here's some tips that work for me:

When cliche idea goes in, bend it around. ( Like crystals to something else not so obvious)
Mix cliche ideas into one unique one.
Forget about other games and their storylines.
Randomly guess out things out of nowhere.
