About the Game.
Ven Vs the Trolls is a fast paced arcade styled game. Where you play the role of an Admin who must defend her forums from the evils of internet trolls. To aid you in on the forum front lines are the other users. Ever useful and ready to fight they wait for your command to rush headlong into battle.
The key to victory is upgrading your users making them far more powerful in battle. Simply combine like color users to create super users and even the immensely powerful moderators.


Origin.
created for the "IWBYAGIYIM" contest. So the game will be pulling inspiration from HBGames forums it's Users mods and Admins.
Ven is inspired by Venetia. As the game evolves I hope to pull more HBGames lore into all aspects of the game.


Goals.
I'd like the game to be about a dozen solid levels in story mode. With an additional survial mode for the more proficient player.
Several Admins to unlock and play. Along with a full roster of users to call on and swap out as needed.


I need your help.
I've not been on these forums very long. I don't know about much about the more active users legendary posters and inside jokes. The pitfalls and tribulations of hbgames.org or any history what so ever about the site when it went by a different name.
If you have a moment leave a reply with a thread link I should gleam for inspiration. Possibly some bit of history you think would be fun to work into the game.
Know of any Administrators, Awesome Bro, Contest Winner, Global moderators, Sponsors, or User. that should inspire something in the game?

At this early stage in development I'm open to any suggestions. All ideas are welcome. Later on I'll need game play and hard critique. for now it's just a whole lot of brainstorming.

this is a good start. Its a bunch of trolls and stuff but it has some of the best inside jokes like medof and rotating josh peck head (make it an enemy)!

To start with, is our troll face, created by Bacon, and is the only real troll face.

Melindas is a good board for some things but tbh things got a bit over the top a lot and a lot of the influential people to it are gone now.

We have in the past had a big rivalry with RRR (RPG RPG Revolution), and before that RMRK (RPG Maker Resource Kit, Crankeye), but we're all chums now.

yeah its over the top and arbiter erased his profile (and all of his posts) but a lot of the past was over the top so idk~

and troll face was never supposed to be used for evil only good :c

Thanks for the links. first link is a rather nasty rage post. I'll have to take some time and read the rest. I fear I may learn more then I want. Someone explain why does the theme look like that? There has got to be story to it.

Actually that history of page is exactly what I was looking for. I didn't expect there it even exist a page like that. The troll face is also something to think about thank you.

Next demo should be posted sometime this weekend.

Game layout has shifted to horizontal it's more of what people are used to. Also a much better layout for the alternative controls like touch.

Added Controller support "for the browsers that support it"
Added mouse only controls.

Basic power ups added
Admin super power added. "for Ven character"
and I'm hoping to have the Boss battle in for the next demo.
