About
Echo Falls is a Survival Horror Game being made with RPG Maker VX Ace. It takes inspiration from games such as Silent Hill, The Evil Within, F.E.A.R, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and various other games of the genre. The game is set in the town of Echo Falls which vanished mysteriously in the late 70s only to reappear again without it. You take on the role of Angela Shepherd, a young college student who is also part of a paranormal investigations group. Angela and her friends manage to get past the town's quarantine, but what will they find?

Backstory
In the Winter of 1975, The Town of Echo Falls
seemingly vanished off the face of the Earth.

Everyone, everything, people, buildings, even roads,
vanished in the middle of the night as if they had
never been there in the first place..

The next day, large amounts of animal corpses were
found surrounding the area. The wounds and
lacerations on their bodies suggested that they
violently fought eachother until none remained.
Since then, animals avoided the area, even migrating
birds changed their routes.

The region was immediately put under quarantine by
the military and the event became widely known.

A few decades later, just as suddenly as it vanished,
Echo Falls reappeared, completely deserted. Things
still looked as if nothing had happened, making the
eerie ghost town all the more disturbing.

Hello. Unfortunately i have to question the legitimacy of your kickstarter found at this link here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/39 ... shen-falls

We do not generally affiliate with kickstarters. Furthermore your information is extremely vague, especially in the KS. We do not want anyone to be scammed.

I appreciate your interest im game making. If you would like to talk to a moderator about our policies we are generally available 24/7; feel free to shoot one of us a PM.

Yeah I don't have enough to show on the kickstarter because I don't have the horror tileset packs yet to make maps so I can take screenshots that's
kinda why I made the kickstater

You should generally make a Kickstarter after you've actually got some of the game built so you can assess viability of delivering the project.

This may seem like a chicken-and-egg situation to some people, but it's the first step towards weeding out the bad Kickstarters from the good ones.

A game built by a solo developer would cost upwards of £50,000 for a little more than a year's development. Kickstarter campaigns require a couple of months of planning and development, there's also a lot of marketing work involved as that's pretty much what Kickstarter is; market your idea to get people to fund it.

The pop horror ones seem suited to the game as well as the japanese horror soundtrack and the survival horror one.

I've basically got the framework and story for the game I just need the kickstarter so I can make the maps

Awesome Bro

Generic Townsperson
But people like to actually SEE something before they blindly give their money to a stranger on the internet. Unless you have something to show, visually, I hardly doubt anyone will be willing to give you money.

Exactly, which is why i removed the link from the main thread; i did give you the benefit of the doubt by reposting it even with the disclaimer.

Generally speaking, when asking for help with funding projects, it is necessary to state exactly what the money is being used for. What you are asking for is not a usual requested amount. We ask for better organization of not only your projects gameplay but your financial goals as well.

yeah the amount is low because I just added up the prices for what resources I need plus the cut that kickstarter takes to get the amount I need. But it does look very low compared to other kickstarters I've seen.
