These are really nice! They sound like they'd fit a secret of Mana type title really. You've done really good with these. I'm sure whatever they're used for, should at least be a top notch title I think heh.

And yeah I'm mostly the same with music myself, can kind of read but it's basically play and go with me. Heh nice works though love them.

This is fantastic. I'm starting to write my own themes, and this is inspirational. I rarely say this, but you're talented. You should consider formally learning music. Not all musicians play music, some are composers. Think of Charlie Harper, per se.

Hey man, your work is awesome *-*
Are you using Edirol VST? I have it here, it really has a lot of good stuff ^^

You're very talented as well.

I've been trying hard to write good music but I always have a lot of trouble when doing it .-.
Maybe I should've learnt how to play the piano instead of the guitar. Piano would ease my suffering here hehe

Keep it up \o
See ya

haha without the mods, this wonderful forum wouldnt be here!
i cant write music either. woud be so much easier heh. When i find myself a decent piece i
just record it on my mp3 and so on :p and practice a lot which steals my time :(
but hey if u got any recorded things or midi ill gladly wanna remake them :)

@Megalukes
thanks^_^ and yeah the edirol vst is pretty epic *assumes you're using edirol too*
basicly im just humming stuff and play random things on my keyboard, but yeah piano/keyboard
might have a little bit of advantage. Not necessarily though :p
I listened to your songs and got a great atmosphere in it!

very beautiful tracks my friend, my favorite is by far "Empty Spaces" it reminds me of a track from "Secret of Mana, one of my fav games of all time so bravo :) i'll try to check out the others as well but this came out quite nice, very tight mixes and good use of instruments from what i can tell, the 2nd piece reminded me of some of the music off the Ocarina of Time soundtrack, keep up the good work

Awesome music. Couldn't tell that you don't know how to read music, because you sure can compose it! You should definitely pursue this more, even if it is as a hobby.

Can I contract you to make music for my games in the future? :biggrin:

Hey there fellow composer! I'm particularly interested in how long you've been composing? Your stuff is harmonically pretty solid! I have problems with getting the high notes sound as smooth as you can make them sound, myself. Any advice you could give about this to a beginner? Is it just about the volume and harmony, or do you use some filters?

Hey guys!! Sorry for the late response. Work work >.> but thanks again for all the good comments :D

@Daven
thanks man :) and yeah the Mana series are amazing games! Also, some of my songs are inspired by The Mana series :)
Thats really good stuff!

@Citizen86
Yeah ill prolly never learn to read music :P Ill just keep on composing on my hearing and make many more songs :) especially with all the good comments.
It really gives me a boost to make even better songs. And lol if u make a new Tales of Game for the Wii ill be happy to contract XD hahaha

@Gubid
Thanks!! If it makes people happy ill be happy to share my songs :)

@Rei
Hey there! My first composition was about 5~6 years ago. :P eventually stopped composing after 2 years but got started again 2 years ago :)
About the high notes and stuff. Can u point out what songs and what piece?
But for example: the high notes of a violin could be a pain in the ear :P so i slightly decrease the volume and add a reverb filter to smoothen the sound more.
Im not using the reverb effect all the time tho. Only when its needed imo.

About the harmony. Yeah most of it is the harmony and the use of notes. Also known as a chord. In most songs u think u hear for example 1 violin as
a background sound but its 2. :P That makes it more harmonic like u said :) And so on. Play with chords and instruments.

And last about the instruments. U might have a good piece of music but with bad or low quality instruments u cant get it as powerful as u want it so
i suggest SF (soundfonts) and a program that can import them. Google it and u can download a lot of good quality sounds. Piano, Harp, Violin, Oboe Guitar etc... :)
I use FL studio 7 and use edirol orcheastra and soundfonts most of the time.

EDIT: Added 4 new songs!
Kate Theme, Pierce your Enemy, Prairie Field and Village Theme

Thanks man. And yeah Strings + Strings + Violin = Epic XD
I use FL studio 7 and Edirol Orchestral plug in and Soundfonts.
U can just google soundfonts and end up on a site with good quality sounds. Piano, Flute, Violin, Harp etc the whole Orchestra Stuff. Its free and downloadable too :)
But not all programs support Soundfont files. FL studio does :D

Latersss~!

EDIT: Added new song "You will always be in our Hearts" soooo epic...!
The song is finally finished! :)

Nocturnus is very nice. It has a very epic travel sound to it. Kinda like a march to the death type feel.

the further the song goes the more different it is from Kate Theme :P but yeah Sayaka's Theme sounds really beautiful
