Are they making a new RPG maker? I've tried to find more info on it, bus so far I have had no luck. Does anybody else know what this is?

Perhaps it's strange that it doesn't appear on Enterbrain's web page, but maybe is beause that's a RPG Maker XP-only page (Copyright ?2004 enterbrain,inc. all rights reserved ?2004 ENTERBRAIN,INC Since　2004/07/22)?

If I remember, I saw a video on youtube the other day, showing what looks like a crappy 3D simulation RPG. They claim it to be from an RPG Maker but I don't know, doesn't look anything like it's from Enterbrain. Hopefully, this isn't that though.

Looks like a new RPG Maker, all right, or maybe an upgrade of XP. Wonder if they'll release it in English again, or if they'll even bother after all the piracy.

Looks like it's going to sell for ~$77. With shipping from Japan, that'll be about $100, again.

Well, the piracy is a hell of a lot less than with 2K, 95 AND 2K3, so I doubt they were too worried.

Looks like an nice update to xp, a sort of rm2k3 to rm2k.
I hope enterbrain will release more informations soon! :D

that was probably the 3d version of rpg maker on the ps2 by enterbrain, and it does look crap.

Perhaps this is the vista-version of Rpg Maker? Who knows, maybe thats what the 'v' in vx is for.

THat was REALLY interesting. That made me think that it may be real, not fake. But I'll try to contact Enterbrain to know the truth x)

I'm guessing it's called VX as in letters, because that doesn't make sense in roman numerals. 5 before 10 would just be V.

I figure it's a more powerful engine. There's nothing saying that XP ever represented WinXP. As I hear, better Vista support was added to RMXP in 1.03.

I sent an e-mail to Play-Asia asking if that is truth, because there is nothing about that at Enterbrain's website. i'll wait for the response and post here.

Im still waiting for a response from enterbrain I sent two one in english and one in japanese.

Did you miss my post? On Enterbrain's website it says a sequel to the popular rpg maker series is being made.

Not necessarily for the PC. And that hasn't been updated for awhile. It's not really a status of projects in development as much as it's an idea of the kind of stuff they could be doing. The RPG maker series comment could be referring to the PS2 RPG Maker game which turned out horribly I have to add.

They haven't announced on Enterbrain official site, but it will be released on 27th of December.

This version also double the framerate, and improve the script editor interface. And due to the difficulty beginners have had with RGSS, they decide to make it easier to event.

Can't wait to see this. XD

I hope it has the same commands at rm2k3 and has RGSS at the same time. That way it's still possible to make a game even without knowing Ruby :/

Nothing is going to happen. Support will probably added, as well as retaining XP, but nothing as drastic as changing the domain and site name.

That and the fact I own the rmvx domains anyway...

If not then all the scripter's'll move on to VX and XP will be left with nothing... Or, the noobs'll go with VX and XP will get better.

From what Hima's stated, VX seems to be a minor update of XP, like how 2k3 was to 2k. While I'm sure many people will flock on over to the new software, it's not really too drastic of a change so I doubt we'd be affected too much.

$100 for a minor update???
