THE NAVIGATORhttp://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/ ... ofile2.jpg[/img]
Name: Armand Carter
Race: Human
Age: 33 [Spent 347 years in Cryosleep]
Weapon: Gas Powered IMI Chainsword (a conversion of a tool designed to cut sheet metal)
Skills: Alter (Psionic Manipulation)
Rage Techniques: A combination of alter and swordplay.
Background:
With an IQ of over 190 and a natural aptitude for the applied sciences, Armand Carter graduated at the top of is class at MIT in 2197 with a triple major in Structural Engineering, Metallurgy, and Architectural Design. In 2207, when the National Aeronautics and Space Corporation was tasked with the job of constructing an escape vehicle capable of carrying 100 million survivors, they chose Armand Carter to be the project's lead engineer, pulling the 32 year old off of his present contract, the construction of two bridges connecting and structurally reinforcing the rebuilt Twin Towers in New York City.
Though highly educated and technically a super-genius, Carter was by far the least pretentious member of the Iron Gaia design commision. Coming from a lower middle class background with a more-than-healthy appreciation for junk food, rock music, and bad television, Carter found himself working hand and hand with such great men as Dr. Dietrich Slade, the world's leading expert on rocket propulsion, Dr. Simon Danvers, the creator of the G.A.I.A. intelligence, and Dr. Jason Gottfried, who practically invented cryostasis. Working with such prestigious characters (and huge egos) Carter found himself making fast friends with the project's more down-to-earth members, Lisa Orcea, a resource management director, and Rod Aaronson, the head of finance.
Together, the team did their jobs: the Iron Gaia station was built, and launched successfully. Carter slowly faded into cryosleep with the satisfaction of a job well done. When he woke up, everything he had helped to build had gone to hell. Stricken with amnesia (part of his memories have not returned to this day) from his rough awakening from Cryosleep, Carter learned with slowly mounting dread the terrible experiments the G.A.I.A. was performing on her passengers. When he woke up, he was no longer entirely himself; the ability to alter reality through willpower alone, a discipline lying dormant and vestigial in the human psyche for millenia, had been awakened in him. He would use it to fight the Gaia that had used him as a guinea pig.
Becoming embroiled in a conflict between the Gaia's loyal Celestials and Sigmus The Fallen and the rebels he'd awakened, Carter managed to fight his way to the Gaia core with his friends Xenos and Rover, confront her in cyberspace, and shut her down. Now, crash landed on the mysterious planet, Carter wants only to find a safe place for he and his friends to live. But as the man who beat the Iron Gaia station, his fight is far from over...
Key Lyrics:
"I must have read a thousand faces.
I must have robbed them of their cause.
Sickened thirst, sickened thirst keeps it together.
Soft white glow in the cranium, a bullseye made sedated.
Beware! Beware! Beware!
I must have read a thousand faces.
And all these voices won't give up.
....
So who's in charge in here? Barking out loud so clear.
Cause I'd really like to meet him.
So who's in charge in here? In the rearview of this mirror.
Cause I'd really like to meet him.
Uproar east, strike west!"

THE MARTYRhttp://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/ ... rofile.jpg[/img]
Name: "Major" Tom Brighton
Race: Human
Age: 27
Weapon: Ares Alpha Combatgun (Assault Rifle)
Skills: Tactics
Rage Techniques: Gunplay
Background:
After joining the United States Marine Corps in 2204, PFC John Brighton was lucky enough to be part of the platoon that was assigned to accompany the Iron Gaia station into orbit as an 'honor guard'. Unfortunately, Tom's family and friends were not invited on board the station, since his spot was selected due to duty, not lottery or prestige, the other two means of securing a spot on board the escape vessel. John bid a tearful farewell to his family, and after watching the President's speech, enterted Cryosleep, expecting to be awakened when the Gaia arrived.
Instead, he and a dozen or so other enlisted men were awakened by a man named Dimitri Nerakov less than a month after the Gaia took off. Nerakov explained that the computer running the station, the G.A.I.A., had gone insane, and the people on board the Gaia were in great danger. To protect them, the marines would have to exactly what Nerakov, and his employer, Doctor Cross, instructed, in order to fight the Gaia. This was how John Brighton became the first leader of the rebels. Their goal was to survive, remain awake and outside of the Gaia's control, and, when the Gaia arrived at its' destination, awaken Dr. Cross and Dimitri Nerakov, who would know what to do. Unfortunately, John Brighton was killed by the Gaia's security patrols not long after the Gaia left Earth's orbit, but another one of the rebels, Claire Saxon, who he married, caried his child.
Tom Brighton is the great grandson of John Brighton, a member of the fouth generation of rebels fighting to survive on board the Gaia. "Major" Tom (an arbitary rank he'd been given, both for his leadership qualities and in reference to an old song) and the men under his command were the first of the rebels to break the centuries-old tradition of running, hiding, and waiting for the time to be right to awaken Dr. Cross. He took his war straight against the Gaia, and in doing-so, met a man named Slade. Tom realized that Slade was far more interested in fighting the Gaia than Dr. Cross had ever been, even as the rest of the rebels awakened Dr. Cross, who was more interested in serving his own interests. Tom and his men began taking Slade's orders, which were primarily to provide distractions and fighting support for another man: Armand Carter.
When Carter took down the Gaia AI, Slade and Tom fought their way to Dr. Cross's shuttle and escaped the Iron Gaia station. On the surface of the planet below, Slade asked Tom to go with Carter, and help him in his journeys. Although Carter was a stranger to Tom, they became fast friends, and with Carter's help, Tom plans to rescue as many of his men as he can from the wreckage of the Gaia, and then make sure that she is dead and gone for good.
Key Lyrics:
"Listen to the world out on the outside pressing in.
Are you read on my mark?
Fingers given names and with the last word they ascend.
On the comfort of their well being...
in arms!
Into something they can't stop but wish that they could kill.
You're the answer to their prayers.
...
This commlink's lost it's frequency and I feel like we're coming home short.
Here, take me instead.
I'd rather not see her off alone.
...
Tonight we storm! Tonight."

propelled by stilt-legged presidents,
incarcerate the mason fence,
like flechettes!"

Name: Mariah Antillareah
Race: Human
Age: 21
Weapon: Foci (Amulets and rings that serve as a focus for Aetherial energy.)
Skills: Aetherial Magic
Rage Techniques: Aetherial Magic
Background: Mariah is presumably a native of the planet that the Iron Gaia station crash landed on, although even that is not known for certain. When the Gaia came crashing down, she was knocked unconscious and due to the concussion, is suffering from some form of temporary amnesia. She can remember little more than her name and certain random facts floating around in her consciousness. She doesn't remember who her family was, what her life was like, what she did for a living, or even what city or planet she's in. She seems to be greatly frustrated and upset by her amnesia. Among her memories are several experiences of trying to survive in a wasteland, seeming to indicate that the planet was in ruins even before the station hit. Mariah is clearly human, indicating that the planet may be either Earth or a colony thereof, but even that is not certain.
One of several things that Mariah does not yet understand about herself is her ability to manipulate the Aether, a mysterious energy that all living things possess and are tied to. She can instinctively manipulate this spiritual energy to act upon the biological systems of living creatures, healing them, mending their wounds, clearing their minds, or putting them to sleep. Mariah is also capable of channeling Aetherial energy into physical form to blast foes with her will. She can't remember how long she's had these abilities, or where she got them. Mariah appears to be a mystery to everyone, even herself.
Key Lyrics:
"Your wise ass comments could cheer you up.
The emotional disturbance: relax, deep breath, sit back,
from the space in which you stand, here and in demand;
don't touch a fresh wound that bleeds.
All over your carpets the stains, the story book remains,
and the page that states you've lied.
Accept and then reply. Acknowledge the other guy.
Tired in the days that passed away.
Sporadically arranged across the floor when you've got it made.
Dear Mariah, this world's not big enough for the both of us,
when we live in the same town. (That's wrong.)
Fight on fire;
burn my hands till I've got nothing left to count my numbers on.
Don't change your mind when all's been won.
Your words in time with the loss that you'd let them go.
Don't let them fall if your grip's not strong.
In time decide...with the words that you'd let go.
Don't let them fall if your grip's not strong.
Dear Mariah...come sleep in your own bed.
When eye meets 'I become',
we lie here alone, locked the Children in the floor.
(Your dreams can't last forever.)"
