Just by browsing through your screenshots, I can see you have great outdoor mapping skills. The town ones and the forest ones are especially impressive. There were a few grammatical mistakes here and there, but nothing to stop me from reading, and it was certainly legible. Just one thing-to me, some of your "features" aren't really features at all. Some, like "multiple plot twists" are thing to me that you should already expect in an RPG game.

I'm going to keep watching this

Hi excessive use of overlays. Seriously, those sunbeams really detract from the quality of the maps.

I agree with Luminier about the overlays, but none the less this looks like a fun game.
Some of the characters seem interesting, Jaylee especially...

So, good luck with this.

half-assed features = removed. what i was trying to imply was that while it may sound cliche at first, it evolves into something more complex.

and i'll get someone to read over my stuff and help me with the spelling and grammer. thanks for your comments :]

well hey back at you too! *sigh* i will admit that excessive overlays are my weakness. D: the overlays are actually somewhat of an experiment. seeing as im using random weather, they dont really work out and are only on a few select maps; like 5, tops! i swear! *cowers*

It makes me so happy when a project that looks like this pops up in PD. I found your legend pretty interesting and the story has potential to be great. Your maps also look great, but please, don't go overboard with the overlays.

Good story, good mapping (I don't find the overlays bad, but maybe these are updated?), but

Quote:
These companions, demons, children of the gods themselves, were twisted and demonic in nature.

Seems a little redundant. After all, if something is a demon, isn't it by nature demonic (Meaning, having the properties of a demon?).

i actually just added that a few minutes ago. i was reading threw it, and at the end it said "the gods released the demons" and i thought a reader might be like: what the hell, demons? where did they come from ZOMWTFFF?! O:

anyways, thanks for letting me know. fixed.

Ah, those maps look brilliant. Keep it up!

The cave one looks like it could use just a little more work. Try working some of the tileset splicing you did for the other chipsets on it. That way you have more objects to deal with.

Don't listen to the overlay haters, I think it looks incredible just as it is.

While I don't find the plot to be anything special, I still think this could be a very enjoyable game. I'll be sure to have a go at it once a demo is out.

The legend was brilliant. I'm not 100% why, but I'm really interested in it. The characters are all very unique, which I like, although I can see a little cliché shtuffs creeping in here and there, but I'm sure that isn't too bad. The history is detailed, but I would like to know more about the Gods. What is their history? Why were they lonely if there were so many of them (as they are soon relinquished into a few)?... I'm sure there are valid answers here.

Apart from this, the screenshots look lovely. I particuarly admire the road in the forest; t'was beautiful yet easy to navigate. For some reason reminds me of that in Master of the Wind. And the town also looks pretty detailed yet fluent too. It makes me happy how someone is making maps like this because I love them. You know, a boring easy to move in map = :|, and a flourishing eye candy of a map, near impossible to move in = :|, but them together :D.

Keep it up! :)
I love Tristan's sprite and character bio btw. It stood out as I was scrolling down and made me read more of the characters. Tori is amazing
AH MAY ZINGG!

Why thank you, This is actually chronologically the second game in the series im planning on making. the first will explain the legend more in depth, but currently, its just a myth in this game. to give you a heads up: the gods are extremely competative and proud, which leads them to not bond with one another and to isolate themselves. there are only a few who make friendships with one another.

lol, AND you can now adopt Tori and place it in your siggy if you would like. (see top post)
also updated with a mining screen shot.

The new screenshots look fantastic. Your mapping is very impressive. However, the cliff screenshot looks a little...weird. I dunno why, but it seems like if they jump off the bridge, they will fall into deep space. But that's just my perspective.

Also, you changed the logo. Personally, I liked the old logo better, but I suppose it's more of a personal choice.

the cliff IS awkward, im not quite sure how to fix the perspective of it though, i may end up putting a new panorama in there to fix that.

and i totally realise the old logo was better, unfotunetly, im not as talented as hanzo kimura. the old one didnt match the title screen at all, so hopefully i can re-request another one from hanzo, this time with the title screen in mind.
thanks for the feedback. :]

Sorry, one little comment. The first map you have in your screenshots spoiler...yeah there's a tree trunk right next to the cabin. Is this reasonable? I mean tree trunks represent trees that existed before they were cut down, right. But if a tree existed there it would break into the house, not enough space for a tree with a trunk that thick, unless of course the cabin was built after the tree was cut down. You understand what I'm getting at? But normally people wouldn't notice these things.

Other than that, great mapping.

Looks very nice. Lots of details in the map, and it looks soooo good. :)

Where can I get that script for the autotile water? I don't like the blockiness of it at all. :(

A script? Who said it was a script? -_-'
It's only a custom autotile. I saw a link to it once, but I don't really know where you'd look. Make a topic in resource requests.

lol, its not a script, its an autotile. theres a round version floating around here somewhere, mine is a recolor of that one. i didnt like the green-ness of the orignial colors. i can provide you with either version.

UPDATE! character graphics have been revamped; i got tired of their lack of quality. I still have one i want to redo completely though. A new screenshot and features have been added; this screenshot is of the first mini-game. The credits have also been updated.

Er...may I ask what the mini-game is? It looks interesting, and even fun, but I have no idea what it actually is, or how you play it. Care to enlighten us?

the mini game is kind of like the arcade game Bejewled. If you have 2+ of the same thing in a row (horizontal/vertical,) you can collapse it and whats on top will cascade downwards. The goal is the get rid of all the items on the screen which is almost impossable except for in the first level or so. once you begin to clear the items on screen, the mini-game gives you items (for example: potions, etc.) I havnt exactly figured out what items ill be offering via the mini-game, most likely game tokens of some kind that you can use in a specialty shop, or possibly a rare armor or weapon that you only get rarely via the last level or so.

The game looks interesting, but I'm not too sure since you didn't say the actual story we're going to be following in the game.  The legend sounds strange with the gods being lonely and messing up on creation, but I guess some legends are like that.

When do you think you'll come out with a demo?

Okay, that clears things up. One has to wonder how you managed to make a game like this though.  It couldn't be by events...could it?

the legend was meant to sound like that, you know all those old Indian legends about Father sky, and the Seas and Earth and some screwed up Giant Turtle? Is supposed to sound like that. I'm not sure when a Demo will be coming out, i want it to contain quite a bit of gameplay and not just last 30 minutes. Giving away an actual gameplay summary would completely kill off all my plot twists, hopefully people will be able to see enough of what they like and start playing and get into the storyline(s) :\

i found an old script on a japanese sight that ive been fiddling with (not my own), its a script (2 actually), not events. :] I'll PM you a link if you want, it would kinda suck if EVERYONE started using it though, then i would look like old news >_>
