Precompiled Decks

Two decks of 50 cards, sold seperately, with a common theme. Cards will be unique to that deck and there will be no duplicates at all.

These will not ship with any special stuff to try and keep the cost as low as possible.

Two Player Starter Set

Two "starter" decks of 25 cards each, plus a "booster pack" of a set seven additional cards, in one box, with a rulebook, counters, coins and dice as needed, and a game board (possibly). Cards will be a mixture of cards from the precom decks and new cards exclusive to the starter set. You will be able to make a functional 50 card deck from the box.

Costs

The precoms will probably cost about $7.50 to create, plus postage. This does not include running costs on our end, royalties for any artists, etc.

The starter set will probably be about $11 to produce if it has a board, about $9 without a board. Not sure which to go ahead with!

$11 is totally reasonable. Go ahead with the board, because precoms are only $3 cheaper. I would also produce special edition decks for the first 10 people who buy it (include some rare fucking print once card, like maybe erk or something?), to get people on the gravy train as soon as possible.

I've checked into some shit and we retain full copyrights, and are able to take it down and move to a different publisher at any time. Considering it's self publishing and print-on-demand, that's pretty damned sweet.

Promo cards are definately something cool. Hell could even use them as contest prizes.

Have you considered a backing for the cards? If you want I can help you design it

Also, for the promo cards, what do you think about making the white card border gold to make it really flashy? Contest prizes are a great idea too. That would definately attract a lot of people.

Any light colour is fine for the border - gold would be cool but I don't think we can make it shiny.

For the backs I knocked a quick one out with the [Troll!] logo but it's shit:

I love the scanlines background, but the Troll logo doesn't look BAD. Definetely could be improved though.

you need the logo of hbgames, presents and shit, then extra shit to make it cool.

I wouldn't have a hbgames logo on the back. Something to do with the game's title (remember that other forums might eventually be made into other sets as well, remember?)

I looked into game boards and the largest available is way too small so that's out.

how do you mean no duplicates?

If you imagine a pokemon theme deck, you could buy a deck from the shop and have 32 energy cards, all of them identical. If you buy a 50-card [TROLL!] deck, you get 50 completely different cards.
