The old organization had too many unnecessary forums and subforums, so we just reshuffled and merged a lot of boards. The current organization is much simpler and hopefully better. Thanks to Brew for giving me a hand!

Notable changes:
  • The Art & Development category has gone away. Pixel Art Analysis and Visual Art Analysis have been merged into one Artwork board, and Music, Writing (Literary Analysis), Edits & Rips (Frankenstein's Lab), and Resource Requests are now subforums of it.
  • The Rec Room, Forum Games, and Melinda's are now in a dummy forum in The Other Hand.
  • All of the programming-related boards (Program & Utility Development, Coding Support, and Games Programming Support or whatever it was called) are now one board.
  • All the Game Maker boards and General Game Making Support have been merged into Other Engines.
  • Roleplaying is now part of Writing. Post roleplays there.
  • Pokemon is now part of Video Games.
  • Music Discussion got merged with Other Entertainment.
  • RM Scripts is now a top-level forum.
  • All especially dead or inactive boards that didn't get merged have been moved into an Archives forum in Feedback.

The descriptions should be updated, but please post here if there's anything funky left over or if you're confused about where something went.

Yay for change!

I'm liking the new layout so far, and I think it serves it's purpose of making things more simple.

Wow. Such simple changes really make a difference. I like how the scripts section stands out more now. Perhaps that will shed some light of inspiration there.

Wow, I uh totally wasn't around when you did this and now am amazingly confused. It looks great, just having trouble finding some things :p will get used to it. For now it seems more streamlined and easier to navigate, at least.

If you absolutely can't live with anything we did, we made a backup before merging and reshuffling everything, but yeah, we've been talking about reorganizing forums for forever and didn't wanna wait. There's a thread in staff with the full list of changes, although I think we did a couple minor things that aren't in that thread.

I just noticed:

S.S. Boards
Private Sub-Forums
Blah Blah Blah.....

Probably don't need 3 levels there anymore

Just wanna give some quick input that the new layout of the RMVXP script section is fabulous... finally, scripts are seperated from event shit by simply deleting the event section entirely. Now, the only choice is to script, and that is a good choice.
Hail to the scripting, baby!

In all seriousness, putting all the script subcategories as subforums in the released scripts section is pretty damn cool, especially for folks like me who don't really care about the rest of the forums too much. Now I don't have a redirecting bookmark, but one that directly launches me into the script section, with optional pathways to the support forums in case I'm bored. Fancy, and well apprechiated.

Glad you like it! Yeah, I have no idea why it wasn't a top-level subforum already; it gets a lot of traffic. And I got rid of the event board mainly because it was pointless (eventing isn't a special thing, it's just using the program) and never used.

I think the eventing board, at the time, was highly requested as there were a lot of "event systems" around. People don't generally make event systems any more, and if they do, they aren't seen with as much grace.
