maybe; i still believe that the console version will lose a good bit of content because of microsoft. plus there's no mods, etc.

Yeah you might just be right about that, I'm affraid the console version won't quite have that Minecraft "feel" to it.

On a different, dragon related note:

Quote:
After release, I will totally work on slightly less dangerous dragons that don't destroy terrain and can land and whatnot. They will be red.

Prepare for those damn dragons to rape your buildings from above I guess 0.o
Red dragons sound awesome~

Oi!

Notch put a poll up to decide the shape of the minecraft moon!
IF WE DON'T DO SOMETHING QUICK THE MOON MIGHT BECOME ROUND

http://poll.pollcode.com/A0qQ
Vote, if you care!

My texture pack's moon is round so why do i even care

The reflective water mod really made this thing stand out. I love the way they did the bridge about 3/4 of the way through, with the floating half blocks creating a sort of railing. I need to try that out.

This is the BEST thing that could happen to minecraft. Maybe finally minecraft will fulfill some of its promises. Hell we know that almost all the work since beta has been done by Jeb and half the time it was delayed cause the away-on-vacation Notch "still had to check it over." Gaah! At least now he's finally letting Jeb do his job.

Would you like some physical LEGO Minecraft?

Some clever people came up with some concepts for LEGO Minecraft kits. We thought it was pretty darn cool and talked to LEGO about it, and now it’s up for on their community site where people can vote for it and show LEGO if they want it or not.

If you do want it to happen, simply go here and click the green “support” button:

How is this different from normal LEGO

I think the difference is that they are specially-colored packs made up of nothing but 2x2 (square) legos. Also it appears they can possibly come with caps that can smooth the top layers' appearances (not in that pic above, but on their site).

Which honestly is an amazing idea b/c whenever I mess with Legos, I always find that the rectangular ones can't make the right shapes I want, and I always want caps so the surfaces of my things don't have a million bumps all over them.

the images i saw of the ones with caps looked more like cg than real legos. that's alright, i guess for concepts, but i like seeing a real image like the one above.

I still don't see why you couldn't just use regular LEGO.
Just get all your square blocks together and you're good to go, the only downside would be that you'll have to use normal LEGO colors.

Hmmm maybe it's just me but I wouldn't pay for some different colored blocks if I could just use my old ones :p

So, spent the past two days on a neat steampunk city build with a friend of mine. VoxelSniper has played a big role in making this possible and not too time-consuming, and it's a wonderful tool that anyone should try out if they get the chance.

slightly big images!

This was all made solely by my friend and I, and though we've only been working on it for two days now, we've both put in an (unhealthy) amount of hours into it. Before anyone asks, the texture pack is Dokucraft Dark.

@Sage Crowly:

That's looking pretty awesome!

Me and my friends are also building a town (without spawning blocks :S), we haven't really done anything like it before but it's shaping up nicely.
Here's my first attempt ever at building a church for the city, I'm rather pleased with the result:

Thanks guys! @Fusty: I like the idea of putting an enchanting table up at the pulpit, that's pretty neat.

Some more work I've done on that build over the past few hours:

Now that I'm at it I might as well post my latest creative mode building:
I actually finished it quite a while back but never bothered to post it.

It's not a very original idea but hey, everyone has to build at least one giant tree in Minecraft right?

I'm actually thinking about rebuilding it on my new server but I doubt I'll be able to do it without resorting to Creative Mode.

@Sage:

I LOVE that flying island!

Heh, I put the same El Manana windmill schematic in the HBG server world, too. Yours is a bit more gussied-up. I made mine look more derelict.

Oh, cool stuff, I'm looking forward to finding that! I mostly just wanted to recreate the idea, I couldn't be assed trying to replicate the island tree for tree and whatnot. I think my windmill came out more interesting than the one in the video anyway.

Some nice stuff here, but I didn't like that tex pack too much. Have you tried Glimmar Steampunk? It's awesome pack.

And now: Here comes screenies!

We (me & my friend) have more buildings now, I'll try to make some screenshots later. We have church, school and mall center with cinema (huge building, still unfinished).
