No wearing team colors for a team you're not on! If you're on the White team, you can't wear purple. If you're on the Purple team, you can't wear white. If you're on the Grey team, you can't wear white or purple. This would be confusing. The sprite cannot depict NSFW material (like genitals or stupid shit like that which shouldn't be on a sprite anyway; you weirdo). Your sprite is not allowed to have BOTH white and purple, or any combo of white/dark grey/purple prominently displayed (example: you can't make a white yeti with a dark drey shirt and purple pants). Wearing your proper team color is strongly encouraged :).Rule updated 11/22/2011
Outside of the PvP continent, all griefing/destruction of player-made property, and attack on other players is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
Inside of the PvP continent, try to avoid wanton/widespread destruction of player-made property. Ruining things just to ruin them is lame as hell. Fighting the opposing team and pilfering hard-to-get resources is 100% fine though. Note that you may lose your team some points, or you may be fined money (Cogs) or jailed, if you make a huge effort out of defacing the world. If you chop down a bunch of trees, replant some. Don't plonk down garbage blocks randomly all over a mountain. Things like that make the server shitty for everyone.
Attacks on server admins/"Pharaohs" are STRICTLY PROHIBITED, unless they are participating in a colosseum game with you.
Modifying ANYTHING or attacking ANYONE within the main city of Sprocket on land that you do not own is STRICTLY PROHIBITED (in case server block security hiccoughs).
Creation & use of TNT is by non-admin/"Pharaoh" members is STRICTLY PROHIBITED (in case server block security hiccoughs).
Please avoid spamming/flooding the chat.
Don't camp the spawn. If you're caught by a server admin/"Pharaoh", obviously camping for kills on new players when they exit the city, you may just get whomped by them and all of your stuff confiscated!
Server admins/"Pharaohs" are allowed to balance the PvP game, if sorely needed. This may include shuffling of teams, placing random resource drops, attacks on members, or modification/destruction of structures (note that these things will only happen in severe situations, or as a means to provide challenge for contests, etc.). They are not allowed to be outright dicks to you for no reason :).
If you request to be teamless/creative only, note that you are subject to any player attacking you outside of Sprocket, while on the PvP continent, regardless of their team or status. Refraining from joining a team means that you can safely access Sprocket, and all areas outside of the PvP continent zone--but you're not allowed to steal things from PvP players without retribution!
If you're sent to jail for breaking rules, you have a few options. You can wait out your sentence and a Pharaoh/Vizier will eventually release you. You can plead with teammates to try to get them to break you out of jail (but note that they may be jailed for it themselves!). Or, you can attempt to bust out yourself (warning: very dangerous). Note that jailtime exists as a means of punishing you for breaking a minor rule or pissing off a Pharaoh or Vizier somehow. If you go to jail a lot (for actual infractions of rules), expect temp bans or full bans to follow. On very seldom occasions, you may find yourself embroiled in a little contest or plotline involving being jailed. These occurrences are not strikes against you.
If you have any problems or questions, or if you are teamless and wish to join a team, please contact Venetia or any server admin/"Pharaoh", or server moderator/"Vizier" for help. You can contact them either in-game with /tell, or out of game, in one of the HBG OFFICIAL MINECRAFT SERVER threads, or via PM.
BACKSTORY OF THE SERVER:
BACKSTORY OF THE SERVER
Destruction had rained down from the sky as a massive shower of meteorites pelted the world of Aremexpi. The cities of the people known as sprites were laid to waste, the oceans turned to ash, and food went scarce seemingly overnight.
In a desperate attempt to save spritekind, a group of intrepid explorer sprites built a massive door of pure diamonds. They had figured that, if obsidian portals led to the underworld, then surely diamond gates would lead somewhere less shitty--or atleast, somewhere less ghast-infested!
It was a herculean effort to gather together so many diamonds--which is why it was such a massive bummer when lighting it on fire did absolutely nothing. The plan was shot.
Their underground settlement grew over time, and the diamond gate was left in the center, for all to gather around and ogle. As years passed, and people became more and more bored, fancy tall tales and whimsical stories cropped up about it. Eventually, people forgot who made it in the first place, and religions based on the myths and rumors started up.
One religion, the Order of the Flaxen Lupines, worshipped wolves. They claimed that each diamond block in the portal was actually the soul of one of the 12 magical god-wolves that created the world.
But then another religion, the Indigo Susapienites, claimed that the diamond arch had been erected by legendary pigman warriors, who escaped from the Nether, and built the diamond door to banish their piggish features to begin the race of spritekind.
The Flaxen Lupines and the Indigo Susapienites weren't terribly fond of one another. They bickered constantly over resources.
Outside of the fray, a group of Grey Dissenters formed, who basically figured that all of the fighting was very silly, and all they really cared about was rebuilding civilization.
One day, a Flaxen Lupine worshipper, an Indigo Susapienite, and a Grey Dissenter all gathered around the door. They had a good long argument about their beliefs, and, at some point, one of them slapped the mug of coffee out of another's hand, and it shattered at the base of the gate.
Just as the hot breakfasty beverage touched the gate's base, a glowing light burst forth like a fart lit on fire!
A portal! A portal to another world!
It made sense -- If diamond was the opposite of obsidian, then OF COURSE! Coffee was the opposite of fire! It was in front of them all along!
The three who had been bickering at the gate vanished instantly. The many onlookers who had seen them disappear became overcome with excitement and curiosity, and ran in after them, without even informing their loved ones. Seriously. None of them told anyone about their running off into another dimension. Not a single, "hey honey, going to another dimension for a bit, don't forget to feed the spider and pick up some cookies from the store." And there were like 50 people in there. How callous.
Anyway, the callous jerks all woke up in a strange, foreign world. They appeared to be in a pretty little oasis, surrounded by a large, sweeping desert, in the middle of a huge string of islands. There was a gate here, but the portal was not lit. People could enter this world, but not leave.
At first, they were overjoyed. It was a paradise--albeit, a somewhat dangerous one. After scouting around, they discovered that this world had nearly everything they needed.
Everything -- Except coffee beans.
Without the ability to tell the people back home that they needed coffee beans, their only hopes for ever returning to Aremexpi hinged on the incredibly rare chance that someone would just happen to walk through the portal with a cup of joe in their hand or some beans to brew. Oh, to be in the only world in the universe without a Starbucks every 100 feet!
And so the people on Aremexpi, who HADN'T seen the portal open, discovered the portal. They immediately feared it. As time passed, it became a means of sacrificing virgins and criminals to their silly gods. The Aremexpi sprite leaders figured that entering the portal led to death, as no one ever came out. So when people entered, they'd usually be pretty scared and upset on entering.
Generations passed, and the sprites built a citadel around the very oasis where they spawned. They maintained their old religions, but they became nastier, and more convoluted. People hated each other more and more--to the point where they would actually war against one another (and the Grey Dissenters would just go off on their own and avoid conflict)--but they maintained that the Citadel would always remain a neutral place of peace and communion.
At some point--no one is terribly certain when, or even HOW, but it was a long time ago, and it must've been a huge event--all people on this new world died off.
On Aremexpi, a new leadership took over, and for 500 years, no one was allowed to go anywhere near the diamond portal. It was considered an ancient practice to sacrifice virgins or kill convicts. They had entered a time of relative peace, where cellphones and computers commanded them around instead of witchdoctors or jerks with big sticks.
However, after a time, society did what all societies do when they reach a certain age: it collapsed.
Factions cropped up again, and people moved around. The sacrifices and murders with the portal began anew.
The newest additions to the new world (-- that's you!--) came into it, to find Sprocket Citadel, and the forts and miscellaneous structures of civilizations passed, totally abandoned, but in mostly decent shape.
They fell into their old niches as they trickled in through the gate -- with the Pharaohs handing down order to keep a balance among the people.
Would history repeat itself again?
Probably.
But time would tell!
SERVER INFORMATION & FEATURES:
MAIN WORLD NAME:Harbinger. MAIN NEUTRAL CITY NAME: Sprocket Citadel. CURRENCY: Cogs. PHARAOH: Venetia VIZIER: [Accepting applications] OPPOSING PvP ARMIES: Purple Pigmen & White Wolves. PvE-ONLY/CREATIVE ONLY GROUP: Grey Dissenters. PURPLE PIGMEN CAPTAIN: [TBD] WHITE WOLVES CAPTAIN: [TBD]
The world of HARBINGER is comprised of 3 major elements: The PvP CONTINENT, a neutral city within the PvP continent named SPROCKET CITADEL, and across the ocean on any side of the PvP Continent, you will find PvE-only WILDERNESS (which comprises the rest of the world). [Note that the Nether will also be PvE-only, until further notice.]
Sprocket Citadel is quite large. The PvP Continent is massive -- spanning over 3 MILLION square blocks. It supports all basic biomes: desert, swamp, tundra, temperate, etc. The wilderness beyond is even larger!
In the PvP Continent, resources like redstone, iron, gold, lapis lazuli, etc. are far more plentiful than usual -- This is because of the dangerous nature of being able to lose your stuff on death or have some of it stolen during a raid. You will also find hidden treasure, or random dungeons/temples/etc. to explore. It's always best to go exploring with a buddy or a team, to ensure you get back safely with any of your found spoils! Diamond is still a rare commodity, however, so guard it wisely!
When you first enter the world, you will spawn at the DIAMOND GATE, located within a gigantic dome, just outside of the GRAND PALACE in Sprocket Citadel.
A short distance from there, looking westward, you will see a smallish, 2-story tudor house. That is the WELCOME CENTER. Please go there first to read up on server info and rules.
After that, you're off! Feel free to explore the rest of the Citadel. In it, you'll find a number of shops & bazaar stalls, parcels of land or buildings you can buy, rooms for rent to rest up, and libraries full of things to read. There's also a Colosseum, where you can engage in fun events :).
If you spawn during the night, it may be wise to wait until morning to head out beyond the city limits. Monsters don't spawn within the citadel, but beyond her walls, safety is a commodity!
The citadel features gates on the north, south, east, and west walls. Each of these feature massive portcullises. To open them or close them, you'll find a little switchhouse connected to them. Throw the switch, and the portcullis will rise or descend. Please remember to always close the gate after you leave!
If you're among the GREY DISSENTERS, you will want to head to the SOUTH GATE. The HARBOR is there, with plenty of free, private boats you can use to sail off into the WILDERNESS beyond. If you exit the NORTH, WEST, or EAST GATES, however, know that you will be neck-deep in PvP territory, and you risk being attacked from all sides! (See map above.)
If you're among the PURPLE PIGMEN, your MAIN BASE will be located off to the east, through the EASTERN GATE. On server start, you will find a dilapidated old gravel path, which winds past a lagoon, into a thick expanse of mountains, and finally to your stone fort, situated on a ragged cliff, overlooking the eastern ocean. (Note that players are free to alter paths, or add any number of additional bases they please). The fort will have purple & yellow wool trim/decorations, so you know you'll be at the right place.
If you're among the WHITE WOLVES, your MAIN BASE will be located off to the west, through the WESTERN GATE. On server start, you will find a dilapidated old gravel path, which winds up through the desert, between some rocky hills, through a swamp, and into a pine forest, in the middle of which, on a hill, is your stone fort. (Note that players are free to alter paths, or add any number of additional bases they please). The fort will have white & red wool trim/decorations, so you know you'll be at the right place.
At the entrance of each fort is a gigantic portcullis, like what you saw at the citadel. The difference here, however, is that these gates have no lever operation from the outside. If you're stuck outside the gate, and there is no one who will let you in, you can walk around the fort to the back wall, and find a small, private entry hall. These doors cannot be opened by anyone on the opposing team--the only way a person on the opposing team can enter your base is by either building a structure that takes them over the walls, or by entering through the main portcullis gate (if it is open--it cannot be destroyed, if closed).
Inside each base [though the layouts of each base are different], you will find: - Watchtowers on each corner of the perimeter walls. - A barracks, mess hall, & courtyard. In the barracks, you can claim a bed & private chest by writing your name on the plaque over it. At the entrance room, there will be a couple of chests with freely-available supplies for people to share. (At the launch of the server, or if a Pharaoh pays you a supply drop for winning a contest or to balance out teams, you will find a number of basic supplies in these large chests.) - An attic, featuring a supply storage room. There are lots of chests in here you can use for your team's cache. - A small general store, where you can buy very basic building items (for buying other things, or for selling your wares, you must go to Sprocket). - A dais, where the first creative contest will take place. - A little display case that houses your team's mascot creature. - Anything else that your team builds!
Note that creatures CAN spawn within the main bases! So keep them well-lit, and make sure that you close doors after yourself!
Special Note: Beneath Sprocket for a fair distance, and the ground under the bases, all blocks are worthless. They are either sand, dirt, stone, mossy stone, or bedrock. Trying to mine for materials under the city or the main bases will leave you wanting! I did this so people wouldn't be tempted to f*** up the bases or city while they look for crap.
There will be contests and opportunities to win points.
Keeping your base & the surrounding areas looking nice will lead to team points. Winning contests will lead to points as well. Points will lead to bonus supply drops, tips on treasure locations, or other perks. Going to jail for infractions or ruining the landscape may subtract points from your team's score! So don't ruin things for your team by making the world ugly or finding yourself in jail a lot!
All contests, including creativity contests, are open only to the White or Purple teams. If you're a Grey Dissenter and want to join a team only for a contest, you are free to do so.
I have no interest in PVP and don't want a team color or a team sprite. I'm pretty sure there are mods to color names. Can't we just do that instead? :\
On the plus side, yay server soon! I like your story, by the way.
Okay. And yes I will require that neutral/teamless people wear dark grey in some fashion. It can even just be a belt or something. I would prefer to keep names all white so it is more difficult for people to remember who is on what team when trying to attack players on the other sides of walls, when they can't see the sprite itself. Feels like it would make it a little more fair, especially to new players, when other players are not 100% familiar with what team that person is on.
If you don't send me the sprite that I can permanently apply to your character, and I see that it is not wearing appropriate team colors, I'm going to keep tossing you in jail until you comply :) sorry!
I think that everyone who regularly PvPs is going to know who's on what team anyway. I would say that colored names is actually *more* fair to new people because all the old people will already know who's on which team, whereas the newbs wouldn't. Also, you should consider that the skin will be covered when people are wearing armor.
But it's really not a big deal. If you want everyone to be color-coded, that's fine, and I can make a gray skin and ask my friends to do it too. It just strikes me as a little odd when coloring names seems easier and more even-handed. But if you want to do color schemes with the outfits, you might want to disable name displays, or make the display radius a lot smaller. That could be cool, actually. Then you could have secret underground lairs other people wouldn't be able to find and stuff, and you could sneak around more easily. And you could stage ambushes and surprise attacks and so on.
Also, you should consider that the skin will be covered when people are wearing armor.
I didn't even think of that -- very true. Alright, I'll look into coloring names as well.
I wish I knew of how to affect name visibility radius ... I haven't been able to find any mods on it, and I wouldn't even know where to begin with making that sort of plugin myself.
Okay, sounds good. I went ahead and made a gray outfit, anyway! I decided that team colors are cool on second thought and that there wasn't really any reason to be reluctant about changing my skin. But I'd prefer not to have it server-locked because I am prone to tweaking it. I promise to keep it gray. Feel free to chuck me in the jail if you find me without a gray outfit!
Is this good? (subject to endless changes)
Yeah, I don't know of any mods to affect name visibility either, but I'm sure there's got to be a way to do it. :\ It would really make underground lairs a lot cooler. I'll let you know if I find anything.
Oh, now that I think about it, your name disappears when you sneak, I think. So you can still do sneak attacks. But hmmm, I think a more permanent solution might still be good.
Oh cool, Bukkit released an update, albeit not a stable one! I hope some mods get updated soon so we can play. I'm pretty excited! If possible, I'd like to play as soon as basic security features are released. Imo extra stuff like name coloring or economy or whatever can wait since that might take longer.
Well, MC doesn't run super well on my computer, so that makes me less interested in PVP. I'm also terrible at FPSes and action games and things of that ilk! I might head over to the PVP continent occasionally to cause mischief, but I'm primarily interested in building cool things. But if you're gonna be staging events at specific times, let me know and I might participate. Although it would be nice if you installed a mod that makes you not lose exp when you die.
Are we waiting for a Bukkit RB? I dunno what the basic Bukkit functionality includes, so I dunno if mods have to update or what.
Dokucraft's default paintings are terrible, so I made a new set with stuff stolen from Pixel Joint. The colors are more inconsistent than I wish they were, but whatever, it still looks a hell of a lot better. I figured I'd toss it up here in case anyone else wants some 32x paintings that aren't ass.
It goes in the art folder in your texture pack's rar.
I would love to join the server, but do the uniform colors or whatever for each team have to be pure color/mostly one color? I could show my normal skin if needed, to see if it's suitable.

I'm going to be supplying a recommended texture pack ... but this helps me fill out some of the paintings that I didn't have nicely filled out previously. Thanks :D
Oh, and I posted a map of Sprocket ... May be useful to have when you first log on, or if you're interested in buying property. (Remember: during the first 48 hours of server uptime, all vacant lot purchases are half off :O [limit 1 per player for this offer]) ~~~
I'm waiting on a recommended build to really launch the thing ... As soon as I have a stable recommended Bukkit build and atleast most of my main mods updated to it, I'll be able to tell you a launch date for the server :D

Here you go. Rebel is a mutual friend between theory and I on another minecraft server, and we think he'd get a blast out of this server.

I always feel weird calling them skins for some reason :x
The White Wolves and Purple Pigmen teams will require TEAM CAPTAINS after server launch! (Grey dissenters are rankless!)
The CAPTAINS will be the go-to people for orchestrating team raids, and will be responsible for reporting to me on how things are going, or if people need disciplinary action. CAPTAINS will get the following benefits: ~ Receiving a vacant lot in Sprocket worth ]200 or less, for free (or get ]200 off the price of a different parcel of land) ~ Being allowed to orchestrate and stop/start Colosseum games ~ Getting a few extra Minecraft server command permissions, TBD ~ Handing out occasional orders to team members
You do not have to decide now who will be the captain, but this will be something to consider in the meantime!
A TEAM CAPTAIN will need to meet the following requirements: They will need to: + Be on fairly often -- At the very least, once a day. + Be able to coordinate people on their team & be likable by their team. + Be relatively easy to contact--via PM, email, this forum, and/or on the server. + Know how to use Minecraft commands (using the chatbox). + Must be decent at building, and know their way around using redstone. + Build something that people can visit if they need help, on their free plot of land (a modest bundle of free sandstone and wood will be supplied for this purpose).
After server launch, I'll be looking for applications.
Sprocket Citadel will require a VIZIER! (This opening is for Grey Dissenters only!)
A VIZIER is basically a moderator. They will have the powers of: ~ Sending a member to jail for making an infraction ~ Receiving "help" requests when a Pharaoh is not available ~ Taking a member temporarily off the whitelist if multiple infractions are made (permanent bans must be verified by a Pharaoh) ~ Owning a private room in the Grand Palace ~ Being allowed to modify blocks within Sprocket Citadel ~ Receiving a vacant lot in Sprocket worth ]300 or less, for free (or get ]300 off the price of a different parcel of land) ~ Mediating sales of property in Sprocket (must submit report of sale to Pharaoh)
VIZIERS are NOT allowed to: - Raid bases/balance teams, unless directed by Pharaoh - Be immune to damage from PvP teams while on the PvP continent (though they ARE allowed to send people to jail, so it's probably not wise to hurt them!) - Steal resources from PvP continent - Give themselves free resources - Alter NPCs or vendors
A VIZIER must be a Grey Dissenter, as their increased level of permissions would skew the balance of the teams.
VIZIERS would be required to: + Be on the server relatively often, atleast once every other day. + Report happenings, sales, and disciplinary actions to a Pharaoh. + Be easy to contact via PM, forum, and/or server /tells. + Make appearances at Sprocket Citadel's Grand Palace every once in a while + Build something nice-looking, on their free plot of land (a modest bundle of free sandstone and wood will be supplied for this purpose). + Do things that a Pharaoh asks of them. + Be familiar with Minecraft commands (using the chatbox).
I'll be looking for applications for this before server launch ~
I'd love to be a teamleader. But the fact that i can't always be online (more like once every 2 days) and that im a beginner at redstone, disqualifies me
However, im a more than average builder, can always be contacted here on the forums (online at least once a day) and i know the chatcommands like the back of my hand. But i don't know how people would react as me being there leader. I know im not a douce, but it would be up to the peoples opinions :S
Also, what would be an estimate worth? ie one wooden planks block = ? Sprockets
(and if possible id like to preorder some land.. #13)
_________________ Purple Pigmen of the Palisades, Its how i roll
I'd volunteer to be a vizier, but I was planning on messing with the PVP teams occasionally, so maybe not on second thought. I'll probably be off minding my own business for the most part anyway.
Okay, fine. I've had too many people angry at me about that rule. People can wear whatever colors they want. I am changing the rules. However, I refuse to let people wear team colors for the teams they are not on! That would only serve to confuse people.

The currency is Cogs, but I'll have a price list up soonish. I can't reserve land for you -- it's first come, first served! But I'm trying to set the parcel prices so that they will not be too hard to buy early on (and then, if you choose to resell your parcel, you can make it whatever price you like).
hey ven I have a question. Are people going to be able to see like usernames and stuff when we are undeground? Because if I am sneaking and causing mischief it would be pretty pointless if someone could see me username inside a mountain or underground or whatever~
Location: Approximately 93 million miles from Sol.
I think I'd be fine as a team leader. On the server I go to now, I'm currently the next step down from being an administrator (They have players, donators, moderators, super moderators, and administrators, of which I am a super moderator). I'm also there on a daily basis, and I'm responsible for a good number of the better things that have been built on the server. (I built the initial spawn house, before the admins decided to hire out a team to build a giant-ass floating island with a cathedral on top) I'm also the go-to guy on the server for redstone mechanics, being responsible for all manner of automatic/locking doors, secret doors, and other things, including a lighthouse with a spinning light, courtesy of a circle of pistons that typically block out an inner circle of glowstone. As for getting along with people, I get along with most of the players on the server quite well, although I tend to be a hardass when it comes to the unusually stupid players that tend to annoy everybody on the server, from staff members to regular players.

I am trying to figure out how to affect username visibility. Apparently, when you sneak, the username visibility radius is much smaller. I found a mod that makes it so that you can potentially "perma-sneak", and the username is invisible, but I don't want that, especially since I removed the restrictions on people wearing team colors.
I don't know how to affect the visibility radius for names. If someone can find a Bukkit plugin that affects this, and doesn't make the characters appear to permanently sneak, please tell me. I realize that this is an important thing, but I have my hands tied until I find out how to implement a mod on it.

I think you'd be a pretty good pick for it, for your team.
I think that, after the server starts, I'll run a little vote on captain elections. Unless I don't get many nominees, in which case, I'll just pick 'em.
But I will really need a Vizier, so if anyone is planning on being a Grey Dissenter, please apply to be a vizier.
I mostly just need one to make sure that people aren't being shitty to each other while I'm not looking. And you get some pretty nice benefits so I don't know why you wouldn't want the title, unless you just really aren't planning on playing very often, or unless you're shitty at building or w/e.
Well, I can be a vizier if you want me to. I'm planning on being active. I'd prefer to act like a regular member except for when I need to stop people from being dicks, though. Like I would expect people to attack me if I'm in the PvP area, want to be able to mess with other players, etc. If I'm not using my mod powers to benefit myself in any way, I don't see why I shouldn't be able to raid bases or harvest PvP continent resources if I wanted to. But if you'd prefer someone more aloof, that's also fine! It really doesn't matter to me.

Viziers can still take damage from PvP'ers, the same way any Grey Dissenter would.
Pharaohs can't be damaged by anyone, b/c I (and any future Pharaoh(s)) will be running around with stacks and stacks of stuff with the intent of building up the citadel, balancing out teams, dropping loot, accepting Cogs for parcel buying/transferal of properties/funds, etc., and I don't want the massive amount of stuff I'll need for that to be taken from the world, nor do I want to tempt people to always be gunning for me b/c I drop shittons of stuff off my corpse :P.
Because they have the power to send people to jail, Viziers aren't allowed to raid peoples' bases for resources. I don't mind if they try to mine/explore the PvP continent, but they shouldn't go overboard ... The resources on the PvP continent are more plentiful, with the intent that it will make things more interesting/lucrative for the teams that can potentially lose it all, or who will be using it to sell & barter with. If a PvE'er goes and snatches up tons of valuable resources on the PvP continent, then takes it with them out into the PvE wilderness, that is unbalancing the economy by entirely subracting all that potential money from the people competing for it. PvE'ers will have a much easier time making money if they want it, as they will not lose it as much in PvP battles.
So like yes, you could still go and mine wherever you wanted as a Vizier, and still have fun/do as you like, but if, say, people attacked you for mining in the PvP wilds, or near a base or something, and you sent them all to jail for it, I would have to strip you of your title for that. Of course, you're Peri, so I don't think I'd have to worry about that anyway, haha. I'm just stating it for the record :)
Well, Ven, I basically want to just be a normal player. If you want someone to act super officially and do modly things and help out with secret construction projects, you should probably pick someone else. (Although I might be up for secret construction projects sometime down the line.) If you want to give me the ability to jail griefers to cover for you when you're not online, that's fine with me, but honestly I don't even want the ability to /give myself stuff since it makes manually mining for things feel lamer even if I don't use my powers. You don't have to give me a free lot either, although I wouldn't turn it down.
Of course it goes without saying that I would never abuse my powers or jail people for attacking me or whatever. So since griefing is the only reason I would ever jail people, I don't see why it really matters if I attack PvP bases or whatever, not that I was planning on doing a lot of that anyway. But again, totally up to you, and if you're not comfortable with me maybe doing something like that (although it's unlikely), then don't make me a mod.
If you're discouraging mining in the PvP continent and then taking it to the PvE area, I'll refrain from doing that. That said, if minerals and whatnot are in higher density in the PvP continent, there's going to be way more than enough for anyone who wants it since the continent is so big. If you manually placed stuff, that's different.
@Peri's post: Only Pharaohs have the /give command available to them. Viziers are allowed to alter municipal blocks within Sprocket (things that only Viziers/Pharaohs can do), but only to add to/beautify the structures, not pilfer materials. (This is mostly due to the way I am setting up permissions, and the only way you get a "master key" to all locked doors in the city is if you have permissions to alter blocks in the city.) I'm not really looking for any real help in giant building projects in the city anyway; most of the time I spend on the server will be devoted to it, so I don't want to run out of things to do there :P
I would prefer if Viziers didn't attack PvP bases b/c they are high noble officials of the city and shouldn't debase their high standing so much! Also, pilfering things from bases could make you look like you're doing power abuse and etc.
Also they should def have a plot of their own in the city, to keep up appearances!

Yeah, a good number of resources were manually plonked. I guess I can potentially put in more if certain resources are exhausted, so I suppose I don't care that much. I'm just trying to be mindful of not totally borking the economy.
