Other Points of Interest

  • Any comments you have, as always, are appreciated
  • This is MY review thread, so don't go posting your own reviews here
  • I'll review XP games and VX games indiscriminately
  • Want your game reviewed? Leave a link here and I'll have a look, maybe a short message saying why I should have a look at your game and not another one could help too. Keep in mind that I only go for the games in the "completed games" forum
  • I reviewed your game and you didn't even ask for it? Yeah, that can happen. What? You don't like the results? Well, though. I'm not taking it down.
  • That's all, Happy Reading everyone!

Awesome reviews man!  I told you this in my LA thread, but you are an excellent reviewer and should probably get a job doing it.  You should work for 1up.com or gamespot.com or something.

This is a very nice, organized thread to check what games are like before you play them.  I can't really play games anyway because it's near impossible for me to download stuff with my crappy dial-up...but it's cool that you're doing this.  Good luck in the future with more reviews!

P.S. Thanks for the Lucid Awakening review ^_^.

Ah, I'd be thrilled if that could ever happen XD. But I'm not getting my hopes up. That's up there with finding a genie in a bottle or the entrance to the land of Chocolate.

EDIT: Can somebody stickie this thread?

Very nice Reviews Doctor. The points you've brought out in these game reviews, not only make people want to play more games, it also should help those who are currently working on their own remember to keep these points in mind ^^

Yes, these reviews are extremely helpful for fellow developers. They show us what works and what doesn't through analysis of example and practice.

Thanks a bunch for doing this!

I don't really see the point in stickying it though, people naturally overlook that expecting it's just the rules and whatnot.

The deal with that Lucid Awakening game is that it's frickin' awesome!!  Lol jk.

@Doctor: That's not crazy to think you can be a reviewer.  All you would need to do would be to go to college for some kind of writing or English literature degree or something.  Then submit a resume somewhere...and that's it.  I'm sure you could if you work hard at it.  Mostly you just need that slip of paper that says you went to college for it though.

I'm already a psychology student at University, so I'm putting my eggs in that basket.

And I know about the stickie thing... but I just hated seeing this thread slipping down. Anyway, I think people know where to look now.

I'm having a difficult time deciding what to review next. There are a lot of great looking games around...

Tie between: Children of Gods or The Blacksmith Apprentice

My vote goes towards Blacksmith's Apprentice. It's been featured in this week in rmxp.org and it supposedly has a lot of playtime, but i havent been able to get a good read on the quality of the game itself from the thread(fanboys aside), so it seems like a good choice(i havent even head of children of gods though, so idk)

Well Doctor, since Children of the Gods is recently new and not many people have responded about the game itself, perhaps a review would help the creator out a bit? You know give it some free attention and help find any weak points in game that they can address. It seems that Blacksmith's Apprentice has that already.

(I feel like a companion ^^;)

Hm... I think SakuraPheonix makes a better point. Children of the God it is!

On our way, Sakura! I think the Daleks are back. Again.

Hey, Doctor, a friend of mine is staff at a smallish review site, and he thinks your RM reviews are pretty cool. The site gets review copies of games from publishers like Atlus and Ubisoft, but it also covers random little browser MMOs and stuff like that, so RM games wouldn't be out of place. Would you be interested in putting some of your stuff up there?

Sure, I'll talk to him, but the games need to be added to the database. Which reviews do you want to post?

Okay, the games have been added to the database. Sign up and sub the reviews, and someone will approve them eventually. I'll get my friend to do it if he's around, so let me know when you do it. I've also added screens for LA and MotW4, and I'll do some for the MotW 1-3 if I can hunt them down or take them myself (although dunno when). By the way, it's worth noting that HG uses HTML instead of BBcode if you want to use images or formatting.

Say, do you have a MotW1 review somewhere? It'd be cool to have all four.

LA
MotW1
MotW2
MotW3
MotW4

Posted, though I think I made some mistakes with the first two arcs of MotW regarding the rating and the exclusivity... meh, that can be fixed in time, yes?

Yeah, you can edit them for that sorta thing. Just view the review and click the modify link on the top.

Also, they're posted now.
